John Edwards considers admitting paternity

Here’s the gist of a just-posted New York Times story on former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards:

….[A] federal grand jury in nearby Raleigh is investigating whether any crimes were committed in connection with campaign laws in an effort to conceal his extramarital affair with a woman named Rielle Hunter.

At the same time, Mr. Edwards is moving toward an abrupt reversal in his public posture; associates said in interviews that he is considering declaring that he is the father of Ms. Hunter’s 19-month-old daughter, something that he once flatly asserted in a television interview was not possible.

Friends and other associates of Mr. Edwards and his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth, say she has resisted the idea of her husband’s claiming paternity. Mrs. Edwards, who is battling cancer, “has yet to be brought around,” said one family friend, who like others spoke about the situation on the condition of anonymity, pointing to the complicated and delicate nature of the issue.

“Sure I stole … but I stole for you!” (Anybody putting their trust in any politician, whether Republican or Democrat, is a damned fool. Edwards was right on the mark about lobbyists controlling Washington, but a man who thinks he needs a 30,000 square foot house has feet of clay.)

To me, he (AND SHE) did the lowest of lows. I cannot imagine somebody doing that to their wife of so many years and her fighting cancer. I use to like him before this.

So I guess if he is considering admitting paternity, that means he is the father regardless right? Which means he lied when he said he was not. John Edwards is a total dirtbag.

Either he admits it or once the results are back, his trollop girlfriend does. Better to be out front on this, don’t you think, Senator?

He is a liar like most of the rest of the politicians. Worse than a liar, he really is an egotist who let his entire family down, including his wife of many years. He was very transparent to me, but this has finally proved I was right! Someone called him a “dirtbag.” He is that.

He is a big gov’t communist. God and Jesus will judge him. Thank the Lord he never got any further in his quest to bankrupt the nation and our military. Let’s focus on how Hussein Obama is waving the white flag of surrender and fighting for this moronic health care plan. Anyone who is on this installed-leader’s plans must have a mental disease.

Just remember that Roy Barnes and John Edwards are soul mates. Barnes donated huge amounts of money and time helping this sleazebag.

May I ask why this is still news? A two year old could have figured this out. Another distraction from the “fair and balanced” crowd’s liberal media?

All of you moralists who were so agressive about bashing Sanford are sure to be out in force condemning Edwards for lying about his affair on a dying wife and lying about his mistress and lying about his child and lying about the paternity and lying about the money and lying….you get the idea.
But the hypocrites on the left will do their best to bury this.

Edwards and his cancer-stricken wife are both LIARS. She knew of his infidelity, yet kept on campaigning for him, hoping no one would notice. She used her cancer as a campaign tool. They both tried to “fool” the American people.

If they’d just owned up to their own snarkiness, no one would care and this wouldn’t be a news story.

I agree Trusslady…… While I feel for his wife, this situation is now as relevant as any comment Jimmy Carter has ever or will make, post his 1 term as President.

Just smoke and mirrors to keep the focus off the present administrations failed attempts to impose their will on the American people. Citizens are finally waking up and questioning the steamroller & misdirection tactics of the Obama administration without the help of the media……..

To bad this was not happening this time, last year.

He’s disgusting. What’s worse, poor Elizabeth Edwards truly believes in this sleaze. Now she and that baby are the innocent victims of his and
Rielle Hunter’s sleaziness.

This woman had a plan to get Edwards from the very beginning. I read that she created her company just to follow him? And–check this, people–she named her company “MidLine Groove Productions.” She publicly declared her intent in her company’s name. Use (a/her) “midline” ‘groove’ to produce his baby. The second I heard that name, I knew exactly what that woman had planned. Bold.

It’s one thing to end up in an affair with a married person, if it just happens and is not intentional. But this woman, I believe, planned to produce his baby all along. [And I still say John Edwards and ET's Mark Steines were separated at birth.]

In the Sunday AJC article “Ex-aide says Edwards fathered mistress’ child,” the ex-aide is identified as Andrew Young. Nowhere in the article does it say “no, not the former Atlanta mayor.” Instead, when you see his name in full, it links through to an article on Andrew Young, the 69 former mayor, former UN ambassador, onetime lt. of MLK. PLEASE don’t tell me that staffing cuts at the AJC aren’t causing problems. This is an AP article that might play differently in other cities, but should have been ammended in Atlanta. Instead, something vague was made MUCH worse by someone adding an incorrect link. This is a bone-headed mistake that should easily have been caught.

When did the AJC start reporting on what happens on The Jerry Springer Show? One can easily imagine Elizabeth Edwards and Rielle Hunter being held back by the Springer stage goons while John walks out to the audience boos. Truly, these three people are worse than most people who grace Jerry’s stage. At least those people aren’t delusional enough to think they may be President some day.

Mr. Edwards’ behavior has been selfish and disgusting. Not only did he cheat on his wife, who happerns to have terminal cancer, he failed to consider his children AND the american people. What a skunk.

Keep Elizabeth and her children in your prayers for John has surely shattered their lives. Keep that little baby in your prayers for she has to deal w/ her mother and Edwards for a lifetime; and that will be a burden and embarassment.
