This from today’s Washington Post:
Three Senate Republicans yesterday endorsed Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s nomination to the Supreme Court, giving increased momentum to securing President Obama’s choice a place on the high court by early August.
Sen. Mel Martinez (Fla.), former chairman of the Republican National Committee, joined veteran Sens. Richard G. Lugar (Ind.) and Olympia J. Snowe (Maine) in support of the first Hispanic nominated to the Supreme Court.
The senators dismissed allegations from some of their GOP colleagues, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), that Sotomayor had shown herself to be a partial jurist because of speeches in which she said a “wise Latina” could be more likely to make better rulings than a white male judge.

I’m disappointed. She’s a racist who doesn’t rule by law. Rather, she rules by emotion based on her own Utopian vision for the country. Newt is right about her so-called “sincerity.” I doubt that she leads a Christ-centered existence where she cares about the sanctity of life. The slippery slope has gotten even more slippery. Where was the fight to block this far left pro-quota liberal?

Snowe is a Democrat in real life, Luger is a RINO, and Martinez puts race above doing what’s right.

Twenty years from now, after Sotomayor’s brand of justice has diminished our lives, people will regret why she wasn’t faced with three obvious questions. (1) What exactly do you mean by a wise Latina reaching a better conclusion than a white man? (2) Do you think that a wise Latina would reach a better conclusion than a wise white Jewess (Ruth Bader Ginsburg)? (3) Do you think that a wise Latina would reach a better conclusion than a wise black man (Clarence Thomas)?

My question is why isn’t Sotomayor back in mexico where she belongs? She is neither intelligent, nor needed.
Don’t forget, Saturday is Commie-Nelson’s B-Day. Send him a Mao shirt.

Wow… somebody let the inmates out of the loony bin again. By the way, if anyone has ever read Bill White’s immoral postings on this site then you know he is the last person to be lecturing anyone about leading a Christ-centered life.

@Burroughston Broch @Theobald Montegue, the third @Jim Dean I would say that my comments are in line with a God-fearing philosophy. This new Sup Ct. pick is going to employ reverse discrimination at the worst levels. There is no doubt that her background should have been questioned even more, but I’m sorry to say that everyone has been spineless on this due to extreme Political Correctness. Common sense has been thrown out of the tallest window at the Capitol. Will anyone have the guts in 20 years to question this move? I doubt it unless we conservatives do something about it. I’m confident that with someone like the new Ralph Reed will turn things around and we will prevail. Already we’re seeing Obamanomics, Socialized Health Care and “Green Jobs” failing thank God. In one year, we will see a mid-term fight like no other with the weak-kneed Dems losing a number of seats. This will make 1994 look like a picnic.

Theobald…Sotomayor is from New York by way of Puerto Rico…as for the rest of you…social conservatism is dead for a generation…and for good reason. The standard bearers simply cannot live up to it. Keep hope for 1994 alive but at least get a platform other than white anger and moral indignation first. Pat Buchanan and other Republicans have already tried that and we see where that went. I guess for you guys this is the United Socialist States of America now…to which I say what was said from 2000 to 2008…if you don’t like it..get the hell out.

People believe what they want to believe; and if they do not have a reason for their belief they will make up one. Bill White believes that Sotomayor is “a racist who doesn’t rule by law. Rather, she rules by emotion based on her own Utopian vision for the country.” If he had bothered to read any of Sotomayor’s court opinions he would have discovered that she is a boring judge who ALWAYS applies the law & precedence now recognized by the Supreme Court. ( scotus.com)
“I doubt that she leads a Christ-centered existence…”. Bill there is hope for you yet – you do admit the doubt. That is the Christ-like thing to do. Remember, the Christian religion is the only religion that preaches as a human behavior – forgiveness.
Has anyone noted that Sotomayor will make the 6th Catholic on the court? Am I correct on this? If so, so what?

BW – correct as far as you go. The US has been a socialist since FDR was president. And remember, it was Republican Reagan who saved that greatest of all socialist programms – Social Security. And, it was Republican George W who gave us the first socialist program in over 40 years with Medicare Part D (drug program for those on SS for you younger guys).
Conservatism is Great – the problem is that to many think Republicans are Conservative. They are no such thing; all Republicans are Liberals.
LOOK at the RECORD – not at the Talk.

PR, mexicano, cuban, I don’t care. She has no business here, is not welcome here & offers nothing. Ship here back to either NY or PR. Same to me.
Conservatism is dead because of the liars called republicans. Repubs are the new liberals. Demos are the new socialists.

Theobald Montegue, the third .. Did you graduate from Pat Buchanan’s school of intolerance? Do you have a swastika tatted on your arm? Forehead? Perhaps we can send you back to nazi Germany where you seem to have originated from?

You don’t like my intolerance. I don’t like you or your tolerance. Why don’t you move to france? You seem to fit with the socialist/communist agenda quite well. All, send all of the rest of your money for taxes, OK? Thanks.

Unfortunately, there are many Bill Whites throughout the States-not just the Southeast.
The conservatives are shooting themselves in the feet by acting this defiant on everything from what Bill mentions: Green Jobs, Obamanomics, this Supreme Ct pick etc.
Throwing labels is not solving anything. Bill White, Newt, Ralph Reed, Zell Miller: you’re angry because you lost power. You’re all yesterday’s news.

It’s obvious that some believe the Supreme Court justices issue independant opinions that are acted on idependantly. No, they have differing opinions, but the final ruling is a conglomeration of their findings and votes. One person does not independantly sway legislation/results; they COLLECTIVELY rule.
Theobald: What are your roots? Didn’t you/your family evolve through the years from/with other immigrants? Or did you just drop in out of outer space?

Theo speaks from ignorance. Conservatism is about limited government, not fear of immigrants. The conservative philosophy has become distorted since the days of Reagan by the neocons and Religious Right.

Road & RJ continue to prove my theory: more idiots in American = more idiots in office. Conservatism IS about limited government, limited resources available to said government, limited intrusion, and straight middle-of-the-road policies. Sotomayor has been cast for this role by the lib’s god solely to appease both the minority class and to placate hispanic/latino interests. Going to need those votes for 2012. Ship her back & out.

Sorry Theo, you’re displaying your bigotry here. Sotomayor is getting confirmed due to her qualifications. The Senate is not placing her in there to placate Latino interests. Do you believe President Bush elevated Alberto Gonzales to placate Latino interests? This is totally unbelievable that in 2009, citizens of this country are thinking with such hatred towards minorities.

RJ, you’re a secular progressive fool. Get your head out of the sand. My problem with this Sup Ct pick is that she doesn’t promote a culture of life in her far left liberal agenda. We are going to see Abortion on Demand in all of these 50 states. While I know in my heart that abortion is wrong and should be completely banned, the next best thing is to make it a state’s rights issue. I know that in my home state of Mississippi, we would totally outlaw it and that’s a great thing. Secular New York could do what they want, unfortunately. The only good thing to come out of that place is FOX News.
Plus, this wise Latina is a Quota Queen who looks like she carries a lot of anger. Those God-fearing senators even pointed out that she’s mad all the time. My guess is that she wants to level the playing field and we all know where that leads to — reverse discrimination. OK, yeah, someone up there in the comments say that it’s a collective agreement between all the justices, but I’m afraid that she and that far left Commie lib Ginsburg are going to sway some of the other justices to vote in favor of affirmative action and quickie abortions.

Here again, it is plain to see, RJ & Bill White (of all trash) calling me a bigot. I am NOT a bigot. I want to be clear on that. NONE of you idiots/morons/mental midgets KNOW the meaning of bigotry, prejudice or racism. Especially the two POS who addressed my previous comments. I made it clear what racism is & was. Sotomayor has few qualifications to be on SCOTUS, yet crap-for-brains (i.e. white & rj) think I’m the one to attack. I’m not running for a position or office. This is why mental midgets should NOT be allowed to vote.
