Rasmussen: Barnes ‘far and away the leader’ in Democratic race for governor

A new poll by Rasmussen Reports issued today identifies former Gov. Roy Barnes as “far and away the leader” in the Democratic race for governor.

Barnes captured 48 percent of Democratic primary voters, according to the July 17 telephone survey of 247 voters. (MOE ±6 percent)

Attorney General Thurbert Baker was at a distant 8 percent, and DuBose Porter followed at 5 percent.

Compare the above with the survey from last week by Strategic Vision, which had Barnes at 49 percent, and Porter and David Poythress in single digits. But SV had Baker at 30 percent. Somebody is very, very wrong.

The Rasmussen web site said John Oxendine still holds a commanding lead on the Republican side of the race.

From FoxNew’s Michael Barone and Roman Catholic Fordham University, to the 9/11-committing Bush White House, those who tout Scott Rasmussen’s “integrity” are oddly skewed away from what is good and proper in America.

Vietnam draft-dodger and Fed Pyramid who*e Barnes is a non-starter in Georgia, except as a frontman for Rome’s Fifth Column to cover the anti-Gay Old Pervert sentiment.

Rome’s fronts, like Rasmussen, will be pushing Barnes from here on out…until the People of Georgia make Max Cleland elect as Our Governor.

It will be a cold day before Barnes returns to power in GA. Sonny hasn’t been worth a flip but he sure whooped Barnes butt in 2002.

WillJones – the FRESHMAKER!!!!
Stumps won’t become guvna, anymore than the ambulance chaser. This POS state needs a true problem solver, someone who can actually accomplish achievements and not let the ego get in the way. Purdue-chickenmeister attempted this and could have succeeded until everyone found out what
a dumb s**t he is. No one out there now available or qualified.

Glad to know, herbK, you’ve never been to, or know anything about, Georgia. Should you ever bother to actually visit this area you’ll discover the finest people and places in America, unless you’re just a complete moron.

If you think of Georgia as you say, if you had any integrity you’d leave. I love Georgia. Having seen much of the world and almost all of America, I’m convinced this is the best place with the best people, loser.

Will, I don’t personally believe you’ve been past western Alabama. If YOU had integrity, you would have committed suicide by now, to spare us the BullS**T you spew each and every day. Georgia is like any other state, has it’s mix of morons & good people. You have proven yourself to be the loser as you’re locked on ONE POLITICO PARTY, making you no different than a worthless republican or a worthless democrat. That said, I merely find you worthless in totality.

Growing up in and serving in the Army I’ve been in all but two states: Alaska, proven to be a non-starter by their inbred whitetrash governor Palin; and Maine, which I may visit someday. My family built this country, and were pioneers crossing to the West. So I have kin in every corner, and am not biased to one region over another.

Georgians are the closest to the stock which built America originally, and are generous to strangers to a fault. They make good neighbors and friends and there is not a better sort if you need someone at your side in a righteous fight. Way out of proportion to our population Georgians take The Oath and place their lives at sacrifice for the Nation in the Armed Forces, speaking volumes about their blood and their Spirit.

Those misled in their sincere faith by false ministers fronting for the Anti-Christ will be a tower of rage once they realize the Gay Old Perverts’ evil visited on this Land we all love.

For some there may some convincing left, but once all have read “The New Pearl Harbor,” and see the dots connected, as Baptists, Freemasons, and independent Americans, of Babylon’s hand, in 9/11, the Kennedy and King assassinations, Hitler, Vietnam and the corrupt Fed bailout on Wall Street, the Beast shall gladly be cast into the Pit, and the good and decent People of Georgia will be doing more than their share of casting.

Georgia has the best twelve-month-a-year weather, and whatever the weather is in Atlanta it’s the best in the world.

herbK, If you haven’t found happiness here over a period of decades, do yourself, and those around you, a favor and roll on down the road. Somewhere will be magic for you. Atlanta and Georgia was magic the moment I stepped off the midnight train to Georgia at the old train station downtown, having to wait six hours for the bus to Ft. Benning in January 1969. Every time I have to leave Atlanta and Georgia my heart thrills to cross back over the Georgia line and again when I look upon New Jerusalem: Atlanta GA.

Find your dream herbK, this is America, and may G-d bless you.

Well, obviously Barnes will not get the nomination….

At this point in the contest, he’s not even getting half the votes. Everyone knows him. Everyone has a formed opinion of what kind of Governor he was or would be. The best he can do is less than half. For him, there is nowhere to go but down.

Given all we know about him, 52% of Democrats do not want him as the nominee. When someone with the name recognition of the former Gov runs, the idea is to start strong a retain votes. Think Hillary Clinton. Remember how she started out ahead and lost votes? Barnes is like Clinton in that nobody is going to change opinion of whether he might vote for Barnes. Clinton had over 80% in the polls to start with, so at least she had a chance to win. Barnes is starting from a losing position, and the 52% that don’t want to vote for him will be unlikely to change their minds.

Whew! The people of Georgia have some sense, after all!

Anyone But Barnes for Governor!

The only question left is why does the AJC pimp him so much? Why did they report this as Barnes having the lead instead of truthfully reporting that more than half of Dems do not want the same Barnes the electorate previously rejected as their nominee? Why does the AJC have such a clear bias towards this inept politician?

CJK, you bring up an interesting point. I’m not sure I agree with it, but it is certainly interesting. At least it was something beyond the baiting and banter that had been occuring in the posts otherwise. Thanks.
