GOP gay group says Atlanta crime out of control — and wants National Guard brought in

The following has been posted by the Southern Voice, a newspaper/web site directed at gay residents in Atlanta:

The Georgia Log Cabin Republicans, the state chapter of the national gay GOP group, issued a statement this afternoon demanding the resignation of Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.

The group called on Gov. Sonny Perdue, a Republican, and the Georgia National Guard to take control of the city’s “crime mayhem” and reminded LGBT residents of their right to bear arms and use deadly force to protect themselves.

The statement comes hours after a man was stabbed to death in Piedmont Park in an attempted robbery, and another man was stabbed minutes later at 6th Street and Juniper.

Bert Brantley, spokesman for Sonny Perdue, said the governor has received no formal request for a state takeover of Atlanta. Also that he “can’t imagine” a situation that would prompt the governor to do so.

Click here to see what one of our crime reporters, Mike Morris, has been able to pin down on the stabbings.

Log Cabin Republicans are an active group — only last week, they teamed up with Stonewall Democrats, their political counterparts, to host a non-partisan session with Atlanta mayoral candidates.

I don’t know if we need the National Guard or not but there is a need for the protection of Atlanta Citizens. This place is out of control. Someone needs to step up and take some action. Where are the elected and or appointed officials when they are needed. Step up. Step out. Get engaged!

Citizens need to be taking responsibility for their own safety. The Atlanta & Georgia politicians that constantly try to strip citizens of the means to defend themselves are complicit in these murders and attacks. When seconds count, the police are minutes away.

There are always a bunch of us Cobb County GOPers hanging out in the bushes at Piedmont Park trolling for same-sex sodomy. The restrooms at Hartsfield-Jackson can’t hold us all.

It’s hard to run from a mugger with your pants down around your ankles. So we’re easy marks.

Maybe Oxendine can hook up the the LCR’s, use National Guard to pump gas, and stop crime

Simon’s right–we need more shootouts to take care of the rampant crime problem that makes citizens fear for their safety downtown!

First of all, Turd–you’re an idiot and I’m glad you’re remaining in suburbia instead of infecting the local populace inside the city with your sheer, unabashed stupidity.

Second of all, we don’t need the damn National Guard. The crime rate is still not at the same level as it was in the 90s.

And finally, Log Cabin Republicans completely baffle me. I mean is human dignity not as important as tax cuts and massive military spending?

Crime? A problem “now”? Wait six more months – when the REAL economy can no longer be masked by printing fake money. When governments can no longer make payroll for teachers, police, fire departments and banks are exposed as not having any money to lend.

Or what will people do in about 12-18 months, when water plants no longer fill the service lines? Sewage backs up in the streets where kids play because school buses have no gas to run.

For those of you that do not think this can or will happen in America, you’ve obviously no clue as to the “real state of the Union” and exactly why we are on the brink of total collapse. America’s wealth has been stolen while switchboards light up by “American Idol voters”. This has been going on for nearly 100 years, as it began in 1913 by the enactment of the Federal Reserve Cartel, Fractional Reserve Lending, taxation on individual earnings, the SSI Ponzi Scheme, the “Raw Deal”, the false “Communism v Capitalism” war(s) and a plethora of supporting legislation and federal policy that exports American earnings all over the world – to the benefit of the corrupt and not “Americans” in general. America has long been bankrupt and in every bankruptcy, the remaining assets are raided first – cash, equipment, commodities; “unsecured” debt holders get nothing.

Crime? You have no idea…but, a reckoning is coming. Government collapse is 100% certain – it’s just a matter of when? Then, everyone will see the character of their neighbor and what’s behind the face in the mirror; trial bt fire, no other way to test character.

Get ready.

LMAO @ Scouser!!! I can tell you are one whose level of stupidity grows exponentially with every passing day. Enjoy living in ATL squalor and skank with Shirley and the rest of the ATL lowlife vermin and theives, like yourself.

Suburbia is great…Atlanta is no longer relevant and we suburbanites have no need to visit the ever growing toilet that is Altanta.

As a resident of East Atlanta Village, I can assure you that crime is OUT OF CONTROL. Pennington and Franklin should be kicked out immediately! Over 1/2 of the people that I know who live in East Atlanta/Ormewood Park have been burglarized or robbed at gunpoint(yes 4 of my friends have had guns put to their heads) in the last year and a half. And to top that off, the police have arrested most of these people before and the POS judges continue to let them out to do the same crimes over and over. I love Atlanta. I couldn’t imagine living out in the burbs but something has got to change. I think a good starting place is the Mayor and Police Chief.

True story -

I career criminal broke into my neighbor’s houses. He was on camera breaking into the homes and was recognized by everyone in the neighborhood immediately. (We live in Atlanta/DeKalb – the East side of the city.) The police picked him up, but he was back out within a day. It was his 30th-something arrest.

Later that week, he and a lady friend used a credit card stolen in one of the break-ins at a store in Cobb County. This was also on camera. I heard from someone who saw him arrested that the look on his face when he realized he was going to Cobb County jail was priceless.

The criminals know that if you commit the crime in the City, Fulton or DeKalb will not hold you for more than a few minutes. They know other Counties take crime seriously.

Franklin, Pennington and Keyes can pass the buck as much as they want, but until one, two or all three step up to the plate, crime will be rampant in our part of the metro.

Simon IS RIGHT, then we would finally get the death penalty properly enforced
if more people would defend themselves. Dead on the spot is the best justice.

Those looking for trouble after midnight often find it in a public park closed at 11PM in a place known for “cruisers” looking for deviant sex, targeted by opportunistic deviant criminals. Yet unredeemed perverts molested by Rome’s pedophile priests or the likes of such as Rush Limbaugh in youth, ought not to put themselves in harm’s way and think public authority can help them when “harm” finds them.

Getting rid of corrupt Franklin and her cousin(?) Pennington, who have stood idly by, at best, as Bush’s 9/11 treason for false war in Afghanistan has turned Atlanta into the “Wal-Mart for heroin” for the Southeast, will be a start. But if we truly want to “fight crime,” we must bring to justice the fascist plutocracy which foisted Bush off on us and expropriate the wealth it has stolen from us.

Perhaps the poor soul whose death has sparked this fully justified outrage by the Log Cabin Republicans, whose silence on Bush’s 9/11 treason has been “deafening,” was stabbed for resisting armed robbery by a heroin addict looking for finance of a “fix?”

Regardless of the micro issues involved, we all know Bush did 9/11, that his invasion restarted the heroin trade from Afghanistan, and that heroin is now flooding our streets promoting addiction and thefts and break-ins for money for drugs.

When those with personal moral authority have leadership in Our Nation, State, and City, prosperity and peace shall follow…and Obama is a good start.

Mary Norwood may improve our lot in Atlanta, and Max Cleland for Georgia is precisely what is needed to do the macro job each of us armed and vigilant must directly accomplish, in Truth and Righteousness, never harming the innocent.

Help America hang the traitors in your party who committed 9/11, Log Cabin Republicans, and pursue consensual sex with other like-minded adults in the privacy of your own legally obtained accommodations. But don’t expect the taxpayers of Atlanta to protect your pursuit of perversion in the public parks of Our New Jerusalem. King Jehosophat kicked your cult of male prostitutes out of Jerusalem. They resettled on Rome’s Vatican Hill.

Help us remove them now as Rome’s “Fifth Column” headed up by your Gay Old Pervert party, and come out of Babylon yourselves to be good neighbors and friends, whether you learn to righteously hate the primary care-givers who molested you in your youth, or not.
