So, the greatest hope for the Republicans is not to come up with good ideas--it's to hope the opposition screws up?

The GOP would lose many elections to come if it were not for one simple factor....Democrats. They'll prove their ineptness and corruption just like any party in total power eventually does. The only people who think differently are youth with little political history by which to judge.

Scott, the problem with the Republicans is that they don't seem to learn from their mistakes and that they continue to refuse to be inclusive with anybody other than those that sit along the far right side of the party. That is why they are rapidly become increasingly irrelevant and if they don't change that then they will continue to be what they are right now. A minor regional party that does not carry any weight in the say so of this country whatsoever.

The thing that gets me is all this talk about the Republican party becoming irrelevant. WTF?? Was it not in 2000 & 2004 that a Republian President was elected and then re-elected? Did the Republicans not hold both the House and Senate during most of that time and most of Clinton's term??? We may have lost this last election and yes I put the blame for that squarely at the feet of George Bush and the inept Republicans in Congress but to act is if we will not win another election is just plain laughable! After the newness of Obama wears off then we will see how irrelevant the Republicans are. Hopefully Michael Steele and the rest of the Republican leadership will stop buying into this crap that is purely media driven and figure out that Obama NOT the Republicans will put us back into a position of power when like President Bush he fails miserably and the country regects the Democrats just as the country did with the Republicans this last election cycle. It is only a matter of time until the public comes back to our tent and with Obama in charge I feel that will be sooner rather than later!

Being conservative is not a problem being hateful and rednecks is a real problem why? most in the GOP has no room for people of color and there views moderated whites folks.. working class people have no room in the GOP. And I wonder why working class whites don't see they are being use by people who make 350k and more. If they gave you 100% tax cut and most in Georgia make less then 50k the GOP rich and big business would still rape the country. Paying taxes keep most people able to make it in this country. The rich has laws to help them rich, the 50k people has very few and they volt like they make 400k a year you clowns are being used up every day. 40k tax cuts and 400k+ is very big . now if the laws made you able to get right off like the rich I could see how you could volt GOP. most IN GEORGIE ARE 35K AND LESS. YOU VOLT LIKE A FOOL. THESE CLOWNS ARE USING UP UP. AND IF YOU CLOWNS THINK YOU WILL HAVE A FAIR TAX WITH THE RICH AND BIG BUSINESS YOU ARE A FRIST CLASS FOOL!!
