DailyKos is out today with a Research 2000 poll that focuses on Georgia. Among its stats:
— They polled U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson against two Democrats they admit won’t be running against him in 2010: former Gov. Roy Barnes and U.S. Rep. Jim Marshall of Macon. “They polled surprisingly well,” writes Arjun Jaikumar.
In each case, Isakson was held to under 50 percent — though both Democrats were held to the low 40s.
— In a poll of the governor’s race that tested GOPers Karen Handel and John Oxendine against Democrats Barnes, Thurbert Baker and David Poythress (sorry, DuBose Porter), the Ox leads all three by a tad, and Handel trails all three by a tad. Nothing definitive.

Has there ever been a DailyKos poll that showed a Republican who was not in danger from a Democrat. They live in a totally different world over there and you would be advised to take anything from them with a grain of salt. It is a pretty hateful site too full of profanity.
Granted they do have the ear of the more liberal members of congress like Nancy Pelosi but still not a lot of sane people over there.

1. Daily Kos only commissions the polls, they don’t run them. They hire Research 2000.
2. Yes, in fact, Daily Kos has released many polls that show Republicans that are not in danger from Democrats. Daily Kos releases all of the details of every one of their polls including the internals, which is more disclosure than you will find from anywhere else.
3. I will withhold content on your other smears about the Daily Kos community.

There were two questions at the end of that poll that you failed mention… and they have some DC people all abuzz about the Peach State. Those questions dealt with voter’s opinions on Georgia pulling out of the Union, yes, you read that right, Georgia leaving the United States of America. A huge chunk, 27% appear to think it’s a good idea. What kind of patriotism is that?

As a conservative, I’d probably vote for the Democrat if they were pro-gun, for much smaller government, and anti-TARP/Bailouts. Everything Issakson is.
Issakson is no different than Arlen Specter. Issakson voted for TARP, voted to increase decifit spending, etc. Issakson even voted to ban the light bulb.
Like I said, I’m likely not voting for the turkey

Patriotism doesn’t mean sitting back and watching pansies take over a once strong country. If part of
the USA is better off leaving then they should do so. Washington kicked the patriots in the arse a long
time ago. Told em they should not be rewarded for hard work and success. And the leeches have
sucked most of the blood from Americas heart.
Change is a word but Washington is full of the same dung. Lobbyist rule and that hasn’t changed. Only
the suckers who bought the sermon believe that America is stronger today.
I’d love for the whole southern USA to succeed from the country!

Wow, the same far-righters who until very recently would question the “patriotism” of any “anti-American” who second-guessed President Bush are now calling for secession after only three months of governance from those they disagree with. That is even beyond hypocrisy — it’s pitiful and treasonous. You people are a disgrace, an obvious threat to the republic, and everything our founding fathers feared with regard to free elections and the peaceful transfer of power.

DFH….You are clueless! And the sad this is there are millions just like you you fool!! If you don’t know that most us “far righters” as you’d call us were not at all happy with the governance of GWB except for the job of protecting Americans against terrorists you just don;t have your eyes open or are too busy listening to the Daily kos crowd. My main point here is This new president and the congress has done and will do more to distroy the foundations and freedom of a free people to succeed than any president in history America may never recover from such an oppressive government, most countries do not, history shows us this and that big central planning NEVER works! It’s destroys people and countries. SO DFH shut the heck up and learn something about history before you get an opinion and voice it anywhere!! You fools on the left with horrible government school indoctrination educations have no understanding of the real world!

No RDB, you need to sit back and learn something because you appear to be clueless. It amazes me as I sit back and listen to the non sense from you GWB supporters. No all of a sudden you were against him on everything other than taking this country to war again. Do I have to remind you that everytime a Bush gets in office there is one thing you can be sure of. We are going to war. Had W not destroyed it for Jeb they would have tried to push another Bush into office. Wow. Georgia do America a favor and leave. RDB, W, and Isakson are all a joke. Bush one of the worst this country will ever see.

Bush made America safe? What, after he committed 9/11?
Pull you head “out,” and read the free proof of Bush’s and Cheney’s 9/11 treason:
http://www.angelfire.com/biz/hankramey/The%20New%20Pearl%20Harbor.pdf
Why do you think Obama got elected? Hundreds of millions know Bush and Cheney did it…the proof is free to know…just like G-d.
Isakson, Deal, Chambliss, Perdue, Handel, Eric Johnson, Oxendine, Gingrey, Price, Westmoreland: all either highly paid morons who just “happen” to be stupider than the bottom 20% of Americans, worshipping Mammon and being philistines, or they are knowing fellow-travelers of treason.
Obama “Sings the Song of America” and the People need to get out in front of his genius to avoid another JFK by the Bush/Nixon/Rockefeller/Roman Catholic Fifth Column…but that does not stop any American worthy of the name from reading Professor Griffin gift to Our Nation.
We must have Justice. One Law, One People, One Nation, One G-d, One Truth.

ICDogg says to withhold “other smears about the DailyKos” from writer JustaGrunt. Another case where lies or mistakes can be pushed on the public by the press and blogs but when someone says something that DailyKos thinks is biased, wrong or is a smear then they will censor it. Censorship is no different than lying or smearing. Put it out there and let people decide, just like the DailyKos and other sites, press, etc. do.

RBD, who are you calling a fool. Someone states an opinion, and you go on a rant about how ill-informed they are. Your submission has no facts either, chump. As a matter of fact, your rant makes you sound like one of the “far-right”, lunatic fringe. What are “government school indoctrination educations,” dude. Here’s an idea: chill out and don’t freak on individuals’ opinions.

As a liberal Democrat can’t say I oppose or support Isakson. He hasn’t impressed me nor overly irked me in office although I also opposed the TARP funds for bailing out the banks. As for Roy Barnes I would never vote for someone who so dissed our Confederate ancestors with the manner in which he changed the State flag for political correctness and behind our backs.

I’m a liberal Democrat and vote Democrat well over 80% of the time. I have no strong feelings yet about Isakson one way or the other. However, if Barnes runs I will not vote for him after the way he dissed my Georgia Confederate ancestors changing the Georgia Flag for political correctness and behind our backs. I think Sonny and the Republicans have done a horrible job in the State and on the national level. But Barnes is nothing more than a Scalawag and should stay in private business IMHO. As for the Governor’s race I’m currently leaning toward Oxendine. He listened to consumers very well as Insurance Commissioner.

All of the people in Washington bear some of the reason that this country is in the shape that it is in. I’ll vote for Senator Isakson because his beliefs are more in line with mine. The Democrats have or do not any support my values. I hope that the people in this country will see that a all powerful government will at some point become opperessive. We will then have little or no hope for the future.

There is probably no better respected politician in Georgia than Johnny Isakson. He is a conservative Republican who is more in line with Georgia than any of the Democrats who are talking of running for Governor or Senate. He won the last election by about 30 points, and the next round won’t be too much different. Do I support him on the bailout? HELL NO! But would the Democrats have voted for it and MUCH worse things? HELL YES!

RE KEVIN75: Herman Cain is a moron. I heard him make a reference to “September 31st” on his radio show the other day.
I guess you would say President Obama is a moron since he stated that he has visited all 57 states during his campaign and recently, noted to his German speaking audience in Austria that he does not “speak Austrian”.
That said, put me down as one who believes it may be time for Isacksson to go. Like many Republicans these does, I am afraid Johnny is more concerned about being viewed as “bipartisan” and ” willing to reach across the aisle” so that he can garner the love of the leftist. Plus, Johnny (and many other Republicans prone to shroud themselves in the shadow of Ronald Reagan when they talk to the public) was there all the while GWB was building his blow out big time government, budget and handouts programs and he went along with it. A conservative he is not really.

If you all notice, the Georgia Republican establishment has already decided that nobody will challenge Issakson. That’s too bad.
I’d support Herman if he tried. I think he’d have a better chance in the Primary this time. We need smart and honest leaders. Herman Cain has proven himself to be that type of leader. Issakson is a go-along, make no waves, amnesty loving, TARPY republican.
PS – It is foolish to dismiss someone who mis-speaks. That applies to Obama’s 57 states and Cain’s 31 days in Sept. mis-speak is the little stuff that you shouldn’t sweat over. Look at the persons record. Even without any gaffs, Issakson fails.
PPS – A good dem candidate for Senate would be Gov. Barnes. Its a natural move for him and I think he’d win. He comes across as a Sam Nunn type.

OK, if Obama spoke of 57 states, then that’s pretty boneheaded too — no argument from me on that.
Isakson is a moderate Republican, which Georgia needs to have any voice in the Senate at all. But I’m sure the nutso crazies like RDB will prefer the most radical, Hannity talking-points right-winger they can find. This is sad, because it further confirms that the GOP is abandoning mainstream America and will soon be a fringe party.

Thurbert Baker- WILL NEVER WIN! African-Americans don’t like him because of his “Anti-Black” stances on the issues.
And, White people know they can’t trust Thurbert Baker, because he is a proven “flip-flopper”. I doubt if he will get ANY of the GA White vote in a general election…and only uninformed Black voters will dare cast a vote for this BOZO!

It certainly would be nice if EVERY candidate for governor would be included in the poll!
RAY McBERRY (www.GeorgiaFirst.org) is a Republican candidate. He stands to protect Georgians from those who would deprive us of our liberty; he supports the abolition of both income and property taxes (to be replaced by a state sales tax); and he adamantly opposes infringement of the Second Amendment.
