Souter shows the hypocrisy of his ilk when he states “over 600 lawsuits throughout the country” yet he
and his leftist friends just want certain states held to the standard of the out dated Voting Rights Act.
Modernize the law of get rid of it.

With an African-American president in the White House, the time for continuing to treat a few Southern states differently than the rest of the country is long past. Any racism or discrimination that may exist in a Southern state is certainly no worse than any seen in Boston, Philadelphia and New York. End legal discrimination and restore full rights to the Southern peoples. Do away with the Voting Rights Act.

Justice Roberts is within his rights to raise the question: Is the Voting Rights Act still needed?

Of course, the answer is pretty simple: YES. Discrimination and anti-voting acts and initiatives are still going on, particularly in the south. They happened in all of our most recent elections. Clearly, a lot of folks are still pretty angry that “those types” are allowed to vote.
