Mr. Smith,

I am in full agreement with you that the Ms. Handel has used both elected position as a stepping stone to the Governor's race. And what it shows that there is no commitment to the people of Georgia. It will be interesting to see if Governor Perdue can get her elected.

I have watched as again it unfolds, the Secretary of State has used this highly influential office as a stepping stool to try to jump over to the governors office.
I wish we had Ben Fortson back, someone who will treat that office as it should be , of service to the people of Georgia.

Qualifying for these constitutional positions are a year away in April 2010. That's when we will really know who is running for what. Now, with that said--it is sad that the polls indicate that Barnes (who has not announced he will run) and Cagle who has just dropped out of the gubernatorial race are the frontrunners. Does that tell the Democratic candidates as well as the Republican candidates they need to hire folks that can get their name out there to the masses. Baker as an incumbent has no business being at 11%; and poor David Poythress who has been running for the last four months is at the bottom of the heap. It is still time for all the candidates to take a deep breath and rethink your candidacy. May be you should stay right where you're at.Whatever the case, contributors should make these shakey candidates sign a waiver that if they don't run for the position they are fundraising for--send me my money back.
