Methinks the good senator got voicemails from SB 16 opponents trying a bit of "reverse psychology", and who were simply ACTING drunk.

(Unless, of course, they were Baptists.....who wouldn't have to act as long as they were alone)

I wonder if participating in Sunday Liquor Drunk Dialing is going to count against us concerning the stimulus money? Do we have to air all our dirty laundry before the money actually gets here?

You don't have to support Sunday Sales to support this legislation. All this legislation does is allow counties to vote on whether or not they will allow retailers to sell alcohol in grocery stores, gas stations, etc. In many counties that have voted yes, you can ride to your local Applebee's, drink a few beers and ride home but there is no option to even vote on whether or not you can pick up a bottle of wine while you are out doing your groery shopping on Sunday. That is what this legislation would allow.
You can be personally against allowing grocery stores to sell alcohol on Sunday and go to the polls and vote no in your county but not be against this piece of legislation which simply allows for the locals to vote. Voting for this legislation does not equal a vote for Sunday Sales, it equals a vote for local control of this issue. This does not make Cagle a hyprocite.

If you don't want to drink on Sunday, don't drink on Sunday. Each community should be allowed to vote on their community standards.

This is a personal freedom issue. Quite frankly, NO level of government has the right to tell me when I may or may not have a drink. That said, since the government closest to the person should have the most power over the person (not that any government should have very much, but the further away it is, the weaker it should be), this should be a LOCAL decision, not a State decision.

This is why my man Ox doesn't support Sunday sales. Once again Cagle is wimp. Says he is personally against it, but will not block it. Can't believe how that guy always try's to play both sides. Ox is going to trounce him.
