Missed running the PRR for the first time in 6 years due to the birth of my son. I’d like to restart a new streak.

The Peachtree Road Race is the greatest 10K in America! My training tip is to get off the couch and build up to running at least 5 miles by July 1 – if you can me it that far the adrenaline of the crowds on Peachtree and at Piedmont Park will pull you through to the finish!

Haha I’ve typed this twice already. Third time’s the charm? New runner, first two 5ks this spring, time to upgrade to 10k. I’ve heard amazing things about the PRR (thousands of people, running through Buckhead, etc.) and would love to experience it for myself (with my husband too).

This is my 30th Peachtree Road Race. My son Jonathan, who is now 27, ran his 1st Peachtree Road Race 17 years ago with me and it would be great to have him run my 30th ! He has been training and he is ready to go!
This will be my 22nd year to serve as a volunteer!

Pick me! Pick me! Last year was my first Peachtree. I’m from Texas and my husband is from Georgia. I got into running and racing and my husband said I HAD to do this race, so we flew out last year from Texas. The race was AWESOME and SO MUCH FUN! We recently moved to South Carolina and I didn’t think we’d be settled enough to be able to go to the race this year, so I didn’t enter and I’ve been kicking myself ever since! I would love to run it again, so please pick me! I only need one entry as my husband is a spectator, so I would vote to give the other entry to Kenneth Vinson – first poster above! :) Happy running everyone!

I made a committment to be healthier and put myself up for a running challenge. In one years time, I have done 10 5ks, 2 10ks, 1 4 mile race and 4 half marathons. I never thought I would even do one, and looking back to all I have accomplished it makes me feel proud to see how far I have come. My running has even inspired my friends to get out there and run too and do races. That’s what I think is the best part of putting yourself out there. That’s something I had not even thought of at first, but if my hard work has inspired others to do the same, I think it’s great! Knowing that has made me even be more accountable as I want to be that example and continue to be that inspiration. :-)

My son and I would love to run with my wife. She has got us running but never thought we could go six miles, 2 weeks ago just finished 4.5, so am pretty sure we can do the six. I have let the fear of not being able to finish let me miss one of the greatest Atlanta traditions. Thank you for the opportunity to enter when I thought we would never be able to get a number at this late hour.

Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it’s usually something unusual. But now I know why I have always lost women to Peachtree Road Race runners like you. I mean, it’s not just the uniform. It’s the stories that you tell. So much fun and imagination.

I think you should pick me to win the Peachtree numbers. Just like Forrest Gump, I got up one morning about four years ago and decided to run. While I didn’t get up and run around America, I did get up and run close to a half mile. It also help me discover why running and smoking don’t go hand in hand. So I don’t smoke. Now I run. Sometimes I run very well. Sometimes I run very bad. But it doesn’t really matter because I feel so cool everytime I roll out of bed at 5am and go..rain or shine.

At the time of registration I didnt not feel as if I would be able to run it BUT thanks to good doctors and great friends that have motivated me along the way (friends who are running PRR as a team without me) I am back and running again. I would like to win these tickets as an encouragement to my mother. After receiving news at the doctor about 2 years ago that her cholesterol and blood pressure were very high she successfully lost over 40 lbs and brought her blood pressure and cholesterol way down… amazing for a woman over 50!!! She did this through improving her diet and sticking to an exercise regimen of swimming and jogging. Last year was her first year running the Peachtree Road Race, which was a huge milestone for her. I want to be able to run it with her this year to encourage her and show her how proud I am of her. My dad has started making healthy changes too, so maybe next year the whole family will be able to run it together!

I so badly want to run this race! I cried when I didn’t get chosen in the lottery (sad, but true). I’ve never run it. My bestfriend committed to training with me -he’s a healthy avid runner. As for me… not so much. So, he’s encouraged me to become more healthy and to lose some much needed weight (15 lbs so far and I did my first 5 miler last weekend) . Neither one of us got chosen in the lottery. BUT, we’ve still been training in hopes that we can fulfill my dream to run this race!

This would have been my 7th consecutive PRR but I was not chosen in the lottery. I have recently gotten serious about running and getting healthy…I have completed too many 5 and 10K’s to count (including 2 5K’s tomorrow), 3 half-marathons, have signed up for my 4th half, and have my sights set on the Hot Chocolate 15K in January. I had this year’s PRR on my race calendar to keep my momentum going. I would love the opportunity to continue my PRR streak and improve on my time from last year. African Proverb: Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastet lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it mustoutrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you had better be running!

I have been running this race since childhood …back when Craig Virgin was winning them….and the last 4 yrs as an adult…and this year I didn’t make the lottery cut….the way I would celebrate is to run with my brother ,uncle, cousins and a host of friends this year in the race….

The Peachtree Road Race has become my yearly personal goal! As an Atlanta native, I have been running this race for the past three years and nothing comes close than celebrating America’s Independence Day than this. Last year, I got injured before the race but continued running and finished setting a new personal time record. The next day, I went to the doctor and x-rays illustrated that I had suffered a stress fracture and had to wear a boot for months. My doctor begged to ask, “why did you run?” I replied, “because I wanted to start and finish my goal.” I am now fully recovered and I hope I can achieve a number and be a part of this race and its beautiful atmosphere. It will always be an honor to take part in this global race that is celebrated along with our fantastic soldiers here and stationed in the Middle East. God Bless America, finish your goals and I hope no one gets injured!

Looking to run my 15th! As much as I enjoy the Peachtree, the local 5Ks during the Spring leading up to it are equally great, and allow running with strollers! Check them out if you’ve never run before, they’re great for families, and cooler weather.

The race provides a sense of one-ness for the city and a great sense of accomplishment for those who run. It would be awesome to participate this year! I’ve recently moved away and would love to come back to visit the city in a spectacular way.

I was speaking to a college student at the Brookhaven Bolt 5K. He is a two-time state high school cross county champion and just returned home after finishing his first year of college. He really wants to run the Peachtree, but unfortunately missed the lottery deadline. I would love to be able to win a number for him and see him cross that finish line. Please pick us.

Even with my pulmonary issues from deployments to Iraq, I still run and I keep getting better & faster. I’m in a Ranger unit at Fort Benning now, so the running is a lot more demanding. My squad leader is running this upcoming Peachtree marathon & enlightened me of how much he benefits from this race. I’m training with him and would love to be able to run with him as well! Rangers Lead The Way!

Well I am giving this a shot. Not getting my hopes up, but I run on a daily basis and have always been interested in running a marathon, but have never had the chance to do it. Congratulations to who ever wins and its not about how fast you can run, but the joy and peace ONE achieves when finishing.

Running has been sort of a rebirth. A year into marriage, I had gained a lot of weight. I wasn’t tracking in a good direction. I set out to start running at least 2-3 times per week. I lost the weight back and started looking like I was in my young 20s again. It felt sooooo good! I want to run this race as an exclamation point to what has been a year of resurgence in my life. Please pick me!

My 11 year old daughter and 60 year old mother completed their 1st Peachtree last year. They enjoyed it so much, we wanted to all do it again this year. We didn’t get a number in the lottery and were TERRIBLY disappointed! My daughter really wanted to make the Peachtree an annual tradition for us… We’d be very, very thankful…
