When you combine Savannah Lady and Sons owner Paula Deen, a coffee cake recipe, Al Roker, live television and a set technician crawling around the set of “Today” on NBC, chaos can break out.
That’s what happened Friday, when in the middle of a live segment, Deen noticed a man crawling around on the floor of the “Today” kitchen set who was trying to avoid getting in the live shot.
That strategy didn’t work out so well.
“Does he work here?” Deen asked Roker nervously. “He doesn’t have a gun, does he? Should we get out our knives?”
Attempting to ignore the tech, Roker asked: “What are we making here?”
Deen shot back: “Nervous! He’s makin’ me nervous!”
After Deen determined that the “Today” tech named John actually worked for the morning show, she rewarded him with a slice of coffee cake.

When I saw the title of this post I thought maybe Al Roker, who’s had weight issues, confronted Paula Deen on her calorie-laden goodies, like Barbara Walters did.
Apparently Al knows how you can include stuff like this in a healthy diet – sparingly.

Yes, the word is ’sparingly’. Simply put, a ‘bite’, and nothing more.
