Even without the use of our elbows where media real estate was scarce on the BET Hip Hop Awards Saturday night at the Atlanta Civic Center, Buzz still managed to get plenty of scoop as the stars strolled in.

We literally had to flag down Tiny Cottle  and Toya Carter who graciously came over to speak to us. And what a difference two years makes. At the same BET Hip Hop Awards in 2007, Cottle was taken in custody along with her fiance T.I. after being arrested down the street in a Walgreens parking lot. The rapper later pleaded guilty to federal weapons possession charges.

Now she’s part of a successful TV show.

Cottle told us her thoughts were with T.I., who was once again a multiple nominee as this year’s awards.

“I’m thinking about him a lot right now,” Cottle said. “He’d be extremely proud of all of his artists represented tonight and that his music is once again winning awards.”

The best friends have just signed to do a second season of their BET reality show “Tiny and Toya.” Unlike most reality stars who complain about editing, Carter said  their show is an accurate presentation of their lives.

“It really shows us as we are,” she explained. “It’s edited great. We have a great production team behind us.”

Added Cottle: “The second season will allow us to focus on some of the business things we’re working on.”

And while the first season of the show was shot before T.I.’s sentence started, Cottle told us a second season may show their lives after he is released from prison.

“I’m hopeful there will be a reason for a party,” she previewed.
