Lady GaGa speaks out on tour cancellation
Pop star Lady GaGa spoke out Friday on why her planned tour with rapper Kanye West has been scrapped (a December stop at Philips Arena was scheduled to go on sale Saturday).
Speaking to Billboard magazine reporters as she arrived at the Billboard Women in Music event, GaGa explained that canceling the tour was a mutual decision (earlier in the week, it was speculated that she ditched West after her fans were less than forgiving following his latest allegedly Hennessy-fueled, egomaniacal outburst at the recent MTV VMAs.
“Kanye’s going to take some time off. But the good news is that I’m going on tour in a few weeks,” the singer tells Billboard. Read the entire interview here.
The pop star’s choreographer Lori Ann Gibson had other theories on her Twitter page, however.
Our hunch? GaGa will likely hit Atlanta again late this year or early in 2010 at a mid-sized venue. She’s probably not ready to play arenas as a headliner quite yet. Her last stop in Atlanta was a sold-out April show at Centerstage in Midtown.

I’m no Kanye Fan anyway, but I do like Lady Gaga entertainment value. Kanye is like most of these young artist, they get a little recognition and now their king of the industry. He’ll soon learn that in this industry it’s easy come, easy go. I think Lady Gaga will go a long way. She’s very talented, creative, and very very sexy. All you Kanye clowns should consider listening to someone who actually cares about their fans. He’s an aashole!!!

I think Lady GaGa has a good enough following of fans that she could do her own tour. As the article mentioned – a mid-size venue would be good.

I’m sure people saw the price tag of $250 for lower levels, or even $150 for GA floors, and laughed. When the promoters saw the SLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOW sales on the onsales and presales, they made a wise choice to scrap the whole tour. GaGa can play the Tabernacle and probably bring a good gate in.

On topic – I am not surprised that this tour is cancelled. I think it was a wise choice to scrap the tour; IMO, Kanye West fans and Lady GaGa fans are very different groups – there is almost no overlap, and it didn’t make much sense.
I look forward to seeing Lady GaGa on tour by herself in a mid-sized venue.

They can still tour on their own and make a lot of money. Personally the tickets prices were outrageous. I dont want to see Kanye at any price but at a cheaper price I would go see the Lady. I think she is fine!
