Tyler Perry a hit with Congressional Black Caucus

Atlanta director Tyler Perry is becoming accustomed to signing autographs these days.

But at a Congressional Black Caucus event where he was honored Wednesday night at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C.?

Yup.

Politico.com reports that Rep. Kendrick Meek (D-Fla.) was so happy to meet Perry he was showing off his BlackBerry photo of the producer and screenwriter.

Praised Rep. David Scott (D-Ga.) to Politico.com: “I enjoy all of his work. He’s hit on something and most of his films have been blockbusters. It’s about family. That really is the undercurrent about what Tyler Perry does. You laugh a lot. You cry a little bit but it’s about family.”
