Paula Deen shooting daytime talk show pilot in NYC

imageFood Network phenom Paula Deen’s boys delivered a heaping ladle of scoop while they were in town promoting their new cookbook, “The Deen Bros. Take It Easy” last weekend.

Jamie and Bobby Deen are assisting their Lady & Sons owner mama today with the taping of a pilot in New York City for a brand-new daytime talk show hosted by the Savannah TV cook.

“Mama has always loved ‘Queen for a Day’ and you’ll see a lot of that influence,” dishes Bobby Deen. “That will be the nucleus of the new show.”

Son Bobby will contribute a “man on the street”-style segment to the show while Jamie will appear online via Skype from Savannah.

And the seemingly indefatible family matriarch, who’s currently got her spoon in half a dozen simmering project pots, didn’t want to hear any griping from her young’uns about how tired they currently are from touring the country promoting a book.

Explains Bobby: “Mama has always taught us to make hay while the sun shines. If there’s work there, you do it. She doesn’t turn anything down. So when I started to complain about how tired I was, she told me to get my butt on that plane and get to New York to help out. And that’s exactly what I’m doing!”

If picked up and distributed, Paula’s daytime show could become competition for Martha Stewart and Rachael Ray’s popular talk shows mixing cooking segments with celebrity chat.

Would you watch a daytime talk show starring Paula Deen? Or is the field crowded enough with Rachael, Martha, Oprah and Dr. Phil?

YES I would watch Paula Deen on a talk show so long as she doesnt give up her food network show or her party show.
She is a wonderful entertainer just being on her cooking show. Love her

I love anything with Paula-
Having said that, I must qualify, I wouldn’t watch for 1 second if the child exploiter,Kate Gosselin is attached to this show in any position-

Not if Kate Gosselin is a co-host, I will not watch. If she partners with that known child exploiter, I will give up on Paula completely.

I thought she valued family more than that – apparently not.

Oh, and just to let you know, most of the media reports on this potential show are calling it Kate Gosselin’s show, and not Paula’s. Take a walk on Google.

So which is it anyway? Is Paula taking a back seat to Kate Gosselin? If not she better get used to it.

Paula if you read this, remember how good we were together on stage with Q&A in Atlanta at Emory…and how Gordon thought we clicked making that chocolate creme brulee. If you never need an Ed McMahon, I’m your guy. BEST WISHES!

Absolutely I’d watch it! And I’D WATCH IT EVEN SOONER IF IT INCLUDED KATE GOSSELIN!!! I hope the naysaying hobbits and toads take a flying leap. Kate Gosselin is a hardworking mother who’s trying to provide a good life for her children. She’s a great mom. She’s firm but instilling values into her children. I think Kate has a northern perspective and Paula has a southern perspective. A great combination. Go Paula! Go Kate!

And for you complainers… Walk a mile in the shoes of a mother of 8, with six of them the same age before you complain about her. Especially married to a man who got fired from every job he ever held! Yes, she fussed at him but doggone on it, she had to get him to help. I have multiples and it’s for sure my husband jumps in and helps without ever having to be prodded.

It is my opinion Paula has lost her edge. When she first started TV/foodnetwork her objective was recipes/food which she was great at and entertaining. Now, she has her hands in SO MANY different areas I feel she has lost her way. I get a sense that her MAIN objective these days is how much $$$$ will it make me. In a way it’s on the verge of disgusting. I get the fact that Paula certainly has the right to make as much $$$$ as she can but at some point when is enough, enough?
Do I feel she would make a good talk show host? I am sorry to say, NO! The show may start out okay because she has a lot of followers who just love her for her recipes. The show would have to have a fantastic format. I will say that it most difinatly WILL NOT last if the rumors I’ve read are true, Kate Gosselin as co-host…..PALEEZ….that would kill it before it even debutes. But you never know nowadays, I’m stilling to figure out how The Rachel Ray Show has stayed on the air as long as it has.

I was already concerned about Paula’s health before I heard about this talk show. She has several shows of her own, products, several restaurants, writes books amd makes scads of personal appearances. Obviously this show is a clone of Rachel Ray’s, with talk and some cooking. They probably told Paula she would not have to carry the whole show, so she signed on.

Paula will do literally anything to be the center of attention and get paid for it. I wonder if Playboy has called to ask for a pose yet. Hurry up and do that before you have a heart attack, Butter-Girl!

Do it Paula and keep your sons as helpers, sounds great without Kate. She needs to stay home with her kids, because they are being raised by nannies tooo much! Or she needs to have Jon back home with them full time instead of other people. Now I want some of your fried chicken!!! lol

I love to watch Paula!
I also heard rumors that Kate Gosselin was doing a talk show. I hope it isn’t the same show! I am SOOO over that train wreck. I can’t stand seeing ANY of that family anymore. Aren’t their 15 mins long over? I just can’t support this dysfunction. So I have to side with the “I will not watch” whatever talk show she is involved with and I hope it gets canceled quickly. Sorry Paula if that involves you.

I love Paula, ya’ll!! Love Kate, also. So if they teamed up it would be great. For you Kate bashers, you know you will watch. You spend a great deal of your day searching for a blog to bash, you might learn something from these two strong women. Just in case you forgot, you might say Paula pimped her boys by selling food to support her family!! Kate has had to carried the responsibility of her large family (Jon won’t work and can’t connect 2 dots). Kate is an intelligent hard working mother who care about her children. For those who bash her for working, you must have a husband that supports your family, or you meet with the mail man for your welfare check. How anyone could suggest that she stay at home with her children don’t live in the real world.
For Paula, I truely love her, her shows, her cooking and her accent…being a true Southern myself.

Paula, you are a fantastic showperson and cook. Kate Gosselin in no more than, “tabloid fodder” You are worthy of so much more than highlighting unethical reality tv, “Train Wrecks” Kate’s only talent was misusing fertility drugs and lieing about it on a farce of a show so she could bilk Christians out of their cash. Please raise above having her participate in your show. It would reduce its credibility and her, “ummm’ing” and cloddish remarks and movements would be a negative distraction.

I basically like Paula, respect her and admire her story as well as accomplishments from divorced woman with two sons to support to now and her ever growing empire. However, she seems more suited for the “Paula’s Party” format airing weekend nights on Food Network. Sure, she’s lovable, likable and all of that though after a while her ever predictable “shtick” becomes tiresome. Same for good ole Rachael Ray. Love them both, respect and admire and enjoy them both– but again is small doses. Just hate the trend of the hyper-overexposure of all of Food Network’s talents as of late. Sooner or later, they will flare out or burn out way ahead of their time and then what?

You have to give Paula and Rachael credit. Both of them could talk the ears off of a donkey. But there are enough daytime talk shows without adding one more. I used to watch all of Paula’s shows on the Food Network, but after a while, I got bored. I believe her cooking style is exaggerated, and if she cooks with as much butter and fat in her daily life as she does on her show, I am surprised that she and her husband are not on the list for heart bypass surgeries.

I love her recipies and most enjoy the cooking show where it is mostly just her in her kitchen. When she is around other people she is constantly doing that HORRIBLE laugh. It sounds like a giant chicken learned to laugh. When I try to watch her in those settings I have to turn the channel rather quickly. So sadly I will have to Vote NO to Paula as a talk show host.

I do not know both young ladies. Iam not sure about the facts of the show and here is what i have to say, let us not be judgemental but be forgiving instead. We are all human beings and make mistakes and therefore let us change ourselves before we change other people. This world will be a better place if we learn to love, forgive and respecfully disagree.

Let us love each other

Tell me this is not true. I just heard that Kate is planning to co-host. Please Paula, reconsider – you have a real and true story. Kate has nothing to offer. Encourage her to stay at home with her children. Kate can go back to nursing or write some books for income but don’t make those children give interviews, etc. Kate serves her children outside to keep from cleaning up after them. She does not want to go to a lot of trouble for the children. Watch the interview where the children were askign for a drink of water and Kate ordered her bottle of water and drank in front of them. She is interested in herself only. Paula truly cares about her family. Please do not encourage the “Kate” madness.

I hope the Gosselin chic is not involved, if she is I will not watch it. I don’t know why she has a show anyway. Oh yeah to exploit her science projects gone wrong. And her show is basically a hour long commercial. I hope she just disappears, how does one become a celebrity just by having children, this country has become so simple, that real people who are making a difference don’t count. So she needs a show to support her children if that’s the case I think everyone needs a show. Kate Gosselin sucks, if she is on a show with the Deen family I will not watch, Paula does not need a sidekick especially a D lister only known for giving birth to a LITTER and berating her husband! WTF!!

I am tired of seeing Paula everywhere and her pots and pans, and her endorsements. I did not see anything in the article about Kate Gosselin so I am not sure why she is mentioned in this blog. I would not watch the show if Paula was on it alone without a co-host. She needs to stick with what is working for her now. Talk about exploitation: what qualifies Paula’s sons to write a book and help her cook anyway? Seems they are trying to get in on their Mothers action. As a side-bar, Kate has done what she felt she had to do to support her kids. To all those who hate her, you don’t even know her… get a life!

Hey Honeydew. At least Paula came from real life hard times & worked hard with a God given talent to achive fame. She is also ginuine & not like Brad the Pitts & the two dizzy broads Angelena Jolie & Jennifer Anniston who are ALWAYS in the news. I an sick of those idiots!!! I do hope Gosselin is NOT a co-host but worst would be Elen Degenerated who thankfully is headed to mindless Amercian Idol. Paula’s show would be much better than those stupid Judge’s shows which waste airtime each day.

Paula would make a fantastic host, and add her sons to the mix, it will be great. Kate Gosselin however will make me tune out, noway will I want that voice in my home. FYI, for those of you who do not know Kate is filming the pilot with Paula this weekend that has been announced and why so many Paula fans hee are begging her to not have Kate on her show. Put you daughter inlaw Brooke on the show, she is a “real” person. Paula you must have a cousin who can add some southern luv to the mix not kate, that shrew.

No I won’t be watching. What is with the citizens of this country?
Once your face is on the television in one way or another you are set for life . Your name and face make millions on top of the millions you already have. You promote products and gain more money.
Paula has more shows out now than I can stand. I use to love Paula on the Food Network.. now with her face everywhere I find she doesn’t interest me as much. Too much of anyone/anything is just tiring.
I also heard that Kate Gosselin is linked with this show. I cannot stand this woman and her “Blah Blah Blahing” (her own words) . I won’t go to the trouble to find this show at any time.

I used to watch and enjoy Paula’s cooking show, I thought she was funny and sweet. Then she it became apparent how fake she was. Her personality was just an act. I don’t think I could stand to tune in to a show of hers on a daily basis. As far as the rumors of that mom with all those multiples go, that woman has nothing of substance to offer any talk show. Her own show seems a bit exploitative of her little ones and she seems very fake as well.

Paula is becoming overexposed like Rachel Ray. She’s on just about every other cooking show and magazines I am so tired of Paula Deen. For Kate Gosselin she’s only popular because she gave birth to a litter. If this is the case any one with over 3 children needs their own reality so we can watch them take field trips, eat, bathe, get ready for school and work. What a boring show that has boring people watch. If people take the time to think they will see that it is nothing great about this show and that they do everything that we do. Oh how numb and dumb we have become as a society, we will watch anything. I don’t feel sorry for people that have litters, if you know that you can’t support 6-8 babies on your current income then you should put them up for adoption. Everyone is mad at Nadia Suleman(mother of the octuplets) everyone should direct thei anger towards Kate too. Kate gave birth to babies that she too could not afford.
