This just in: Reps for the Westin Peachtree Plaza’s Sun Dial notified us Wednesday that its tourist attraction revolving restaurant will be “taking a short beauty rest,” starting Oct. 4.
The reason: The cylindrical hotel, hard hit during last year’s freak downtown tornado, has finally scored 6,350 replacement windows for the iconic Atlanta skyline fixture.
Diners should expect the Sun Dial to re-open in late December, just in time for New Year’s Eve reservations.

I love the Sun Dial. Yeah it’s a place for tourists…but the food is good and when you bring the visiting relatives they’re always impressed.

With exterior home remodeling and interior remodeling windows are always important, but I’m sure these cost in a totally different category. I know windows like this can weigh over 250lbs, and of course installing them is an entirely different issue.
