Perhaps the most anticipated event scheduled at this weekend’s LudaDay celebration created by Atlanta rapper/actor Ludacris?
Sunday’s LudaCar giveaway where the Ludacris Foundation namesake has partnered with Nissan South to hand over the keys to 20 used vehicles to those in need of a ride.
Explains Luda’s mother Roberta Shields, the president of The Ludacris Foundation: ”Our major focus is youth and supporting the family structure. This year we want to do something to help youth and families manage during these tough economic times. Having a vehicle to get back and forth to work and daycare can make the difference in getting and keeping a job.”
We’re told that all vehicles will be clean and have passed emissions and Georgia State safety requirements.
On Thursday afternoon, Ludacris tweeted teases about the giveaway on his Twitter page. The deadline for entering the giveaway was Thursday. Interested parties were asked to submit a 300-word essay on their need for a car (”Make it good” Luda advised on the entry page) and the ability to pay for taxes, tags, registration and insurance.( Here’s the link if you can write fast).
The potential winners will be notified where to attend Sunday’s private giveaway festivities.

I didn’t find out about the contest until Monday, so I hurried to submit my entry. I’m very excited about the possibility of winning but more excited for those who will win. My prayer is that one day….I’ll be able to give away something….God bless and continue to keep those who gave thier monies, time and effort to give someone else a second chance at fulfilling their purpose.

Luda – I really hoped that I would have been selected to win one of those cars – you just don’t know how much stressed you would have released off me not to have a car note and still have reliable transportation. It’s 4:48PM and I haven’t received a phone call or an email so I guess that means I wasn’t selected – I really need one of those cars. Luda thank you anyway for always giving back.

I entered the contest as well and just knew nobody needed a car more than me, but I guess I’m not the only one that a car would turn my life around. I can get away from my boyfriend who likes to beat me up and cuss me out, my dad who always gets drunk and cuss me out, and get a job that I haven’t had in two years but I have a seven year old. Well my blessings will only come when I help myself I assume. I would have stayed to be happy for those that won but I was too hurt fo myself. for not winning.

I missed your grace from God. I am a single mother and have two daughters in college and a younger son. We live in Los Angeles. My car operates through the power of God’s grace, but I would have liked to have won a free car for my daughters. Nevertheless, the contest is over and I wish all who entered the best of luck. In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I commend you Luda for everything you do in the communities in ATL. He’s not the ONLY person in the entertainment industry who could do something like this. It’s ALL about giving…I have even more love and respect for you Luda. Blessings unto the winners and the giver.

Thank you Ludachris. I’m so impressed with your generosity. I have never been a serious fan (probably because I’m old enough to be your mother), but I certainly have a warm place in my heart for you now. How gracious of you to allow your blessings to flow to those in need–right here in Atlanta. Here’s wishing you greater and greater success because, truly, God can rely on you to extend His goodness in your own special way.

I know their a God some where. Who send his only son Jesus Christ in this world. To die for all our sins in hope that we sin no know. So, that same God knew. We need Chris Bridges. So, He send Roberta and Mr. Bridges to us. Just because he knew we needed a CHRIS BRIDGES. He has so much compassion for people. He has always had that! Even before he became a star. Yes, he is a bright shineing STAR for us all to see. Ipray they really appreciate their cars and do the RIGHT THINGS with them. Keep the blessing going. AJC you need to give him awards just for that!
God Bless Ms. P
