Angry ‘Housewives’ Kim calls into B98’s Steve and Vikki

Just after Steve McCoy and Vikki Locke concluded an interview early Tuesday morning with Atlanta magazine writer Amanda Brown Heckert, one “Real”-y perturbed listener was on the line.

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member Kim Zolciak phoned the morning show to denounce Heckert’s brand-new “Housewives” cover story in Atlanta’s September issue as “trashy” and “nasty.” (listen to Heckert’s B98 interview and Zolciak’s rebuttal here)

The title of said story? “Trashionistas.”

“I expect that kind of story in the Star, not in your hometown magazine,” Zolciak complained. She went on to say that her fellow “Housewives” are also upset by the story as is the show’s network Bravo (apparently, the network doesn’t actually view the content it airs…).

Zolciak said she took particular exception to a passage about her smoking in front of her children (a factoid that Heckert ingeniously unearthed by, well, watching an episode of the show…).

“Don’t talk about my kids,” Zolciak scolded on air. “Irregardless [sic] there was no need to write that…The show is for entertainment purposes.”

Explaining the story’s incendiary headline, Heckert said Tuesday: “An ‘ista’ of any kind is someone who works something to their advantage. These women are peddlers of trash and that works for them. Their ratings are through the roof.”

While the magazine officially hits news stands Thursday, hundreds of attendees at Monday night’s Fashion Cares benefit received an advance copy of the issue in their Jeffrey goody bags. The mag served as quite the conversation starter for folks who paid $500 a piece to support the fund-raiser for the Atlanta AIDS Partnership Fund and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Sniffed one bejeweled attendee to another seated on the front row of the fashion runway as she leafed through the “Housewives” photo spread: “We certainly have become liberal with our use of the word ’socialite’ these days, haven’t we?”

Face it Kim, you are Atlanta’s shame. “Barbie” as she was known in her stripping days is an adulter so ladies watch your man if he has big bucks because Kim will go after him so she can keep her bills paid.

Someone needs to update this lady that she is trash, just like her other co-stars on this show. I mean, these are a bunch of former strippers and kept women who wouldn’t survive a day in the real world, with real jobs. These women are supposed to represent the “housewives” of Atlanta??? Sorry, but the “Real” label of this show should be changed to “UNREAL” because these women in no way represent the many professional and hard working women of Atlanta!!!

GET A REAL JOB FOR A CHANGE!!!

Hilarious!!! This show has become a complete debacle and its nice to see that everyone is finally realizing what kind of trash this really is. These girls are an embarassment to the city and should not have Atlanta attached to them in any way. Great article Heckert!!

Y’all need to stop hating on the housewives. They are making money and all people saying negative things are just hating. Let it go. Maybe you will get to walk in their shoes one day… until then keep dreaming!

The fact that the rating for this show are “through the roof” just shows how we have dumbed down our standards for real entertainment. A 5 minute glance at this moronic display was enough for me. These bimbos have no clue what reality is as they waltz through their made-up play world. I bet the “real” housewives of Atlanta, the ones that actually work for a living are disgusted with this trash.

God, this is hysterical.

I am constantly amazed that the women on these shows don’t “get it” that the entire purpose of the show is for viewers to laugh at them. Bravo chose these women because they have a little money, but not a lot of intelligence, and therefore would make great “characters” to be made fun of. I certainly don’t feel bad for them… they should have educated themselves enough to understand what it was they were getting into. Of course, having anything more than a basic education probably would have disqualified them from consideration in the audition process.

By the way, dumb-dumb, if you don’t want your kids to be mentioned in a discussion of a reality television show, then here is an idea… DON’T ALLOW THEM TO BE FILMED AS PART OF A REALITY TELEVISION SHOW.

There is no better word for a show like this, the people who produce it, and the people who are featured on it, then “trash.” And actually, you can include the people who watch this stuff in that, too.

Again, they should be called the Real Trash of Gwinnett County. They all live in some rented house way out in the northern suburbs. They do not represent Atlanta and certainly don’t represent “society”. And they wouldn’t last five minutes living in Buckhead anyway. The only places they go in town are Lenox and Twist…and that should make anyone think twice about dining at Twist.

Ew. Mike. Just Ew.

I hope viewers understand these strippers do NOT represent Atlanta. We have plenty of upstanding, hard-working respectable ladies – TRUE SOUTHERN BELLES – in this city and they had to cast these bottom-dwellers from the Clermont Lounge! These nasty uneducated ho’s are one step away from walking Ponce and Monroe.

Trashionistas is a flattering term for what they are.

I was trapped in a Doctor’s office this morning and heard this loser on Steve and Vickie. As if listening to her gripe and wallow in her 15 minutes wasn’t bad enough, they played her lousy song to cap it off. I thought of fashioning a noose out of a magazine to put me out of my misery, but I figured the nurses would just revive me.

The fact that everybody has taken a couple of minutes out of their busy lives to post comments about these ladies makes us all trash. But it speaks to the real genious of the Bravo execs who are laughing all the way to the bank. I do feel sorry for Kim’s kids though; she doesn’t seem to be that great of a role model.

I don’t think the show is trashy nor the women, I honestly believe people are hating on the “housewives” because they are not these so call uninteresting Buckhead socialites. If anything they are “real”, I see people act like this all the time, pretending to have someone they don’t have, “stuntin”, living beyond there means, it is the American way of life, how do you think we got in our recession. I honestly believe this has a lot to do with race, if they were all white women doing the same thing, they would be glorified! (I am white) So stop calling these women trashy, I don’t see anything trashy about them, living beyond your means does not mean your trashy. Stop being so bias and most of all, stop “hatin” and being jealous.

This show is an embarrassment to the city of Atlanta, which already has a plethera of other shortcomings to overcome. The sad thing is, these low life, superficial, inconseqeuntial excuses for human beings actually live in Duluth, 30 miles from the city! Yet this eyesore of a television show exposes Atlanta as the weak, backward, also-ran city that it is, full of flighty bigots, who think they occupy New York South, when the city they actually “use” now takes a backseat to Charlotte in nearly every respect.

Michelle…… your an idiot if you believe that these women are “real” And for your info they are called trashy because they are living off of sugar daddies, some with married men, they have been strippers, and don’t take care of or watch their own kids, have been evicted from their homes for failure to pay the mortgages etc.

Oh and if you want to stand up for them, you might want to learn how to spell and use proper grammer

I thought that Vogue was the bible for the fashion conscious crowd. After attending last night’s event, I can see why Jeffrey would give away the “Real Housewives” cover mag to some of the Buckhead women. Could it be that the reality show has a striking resemblance to the Peachtree Battle and West Paces set? Front row to back row, I would describe many of the Jeffrey attendees as women of notoriety. My hat’s off to the few very stylish and prominent ladies who attended. It’s great to know that Atlanta still has a little class, after all.
