Zolciak calls for boycott of ‘Housewives’ Atlanta mag cover

Just when things at Buzz Central were getting a little too quiet (it is late August, after all), comes word of a brand-new bitch slapping contest concerning —who else? — “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

Kim Zolciak has taken to her website under the headline  ”Atlanta Magazine: Screw Off” to announce a boycott of the upcoming “Housewives” cover story in the September issue of Atlanta magazine describing it as “disgusting and manipulating.”

Zolciak claims she was “inaccurately portrayed” in the cover story written by Amanda Brown Heckert.

Since Buzz Central happens to have an advance copy of said story, let’s take a quick looksee to see what could possibly have set off the weave-whacked, aspiring vocalist.

Oops.

The headline of the story?

“Trashionistas: Sound the Sirens! Just try not watch the train wreck that is The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

Oh, my.

Here’s the lead of Brown Heckert’s profile: “Five pretty Georgia peaches, plump with collagen and ripe with ambition, sit as still as Evian in the pool house of the Pink Palace, a ludicrously lavish villa that has housed generations of Buckhead socialites and, now that it’s for rent, a Ne-Yo video.”

And yet, despite her protestations, Zolciak has posted pictures of herself from the exquisitely camp-tastic Atlanta magazine 14-page photo spread featuring the Bravo reality stars.

Explains Zolciak: “Because the photos are gorgeous, I have posted them but please don’t waste your money or time in picking up this trash magazine.”

While the September Atlanta issue officially hits news stands next week, “Housewives” fans can get a preview of the story and pictures at www.atlantamagazine.com. Also, for a mere 99-cents, you can read the entire story by clicking here.

It was not immediately clear whether Atlanta magazine’s attorneys will host a tutorial on copyright infringement to Zolciak’s website administrators. After all, the publication’s creative team retains the rights to the photo spread Zolciak is generously posting all over her website. . .

When will these women go away? I hope Bravo does not renew their contracts for another season. If they’re planning another season in Atlanta, I can only hope they get an entire new cast. As has been said many times before, these women are not a true representation of real women in Atlanta.

I subscribe to Atlanta Magazine and read the article last night (my copy arrived by mail yesterday). I wondered how the ladies would feel after reading it because it was a pretty negative article…with photos of them smiling sprinkled throughout. I bet when they smiled for those photos they had no idea the article would be so unflattering.

Kim, got to admit you got slammed by Atlanta Magazine…yet truth of the matter is you and Kandi seem to be the most humble and caring of the group. I would say though, it would be a good idea to re-invent your look in a sophisticated Buckhead manner (West Paces Ferry style) you probably would then hear everyone shut up and re-LOOK at you pretty quick. The Gay community loves you but would like you to pick a talented stylist. Remember, Atlanta socialites wear their dresses 1″ below their knee. Oh, and Atlantic Station is soo “street” your money works better in the REAL Midtown.

Whats funny is that any of these women should open their mouths, judging from the shows I have watched none of the females would have a d@mn thing if it wasnt for who they were married to or who they have had sex with, now or in the past. They are pretty much wastes of existence and just being trotted out for some idiotic TV show for which they are laughed at and judging from the tone of her remarks its like she doesnt even realize people think they are airheads.

I’ve never seen anything relevant to anything REAL on any of these housewife shows. However, I have seen an awful lot of posturing, I-heard-you-saids, and I don’t like so-and-so. So-and-so isn’t my friend anymore. “Lets pair up and be friends and not play with so-and-so anymore so then they’ll see, ha!”

I’ve never been a housewife but I just know there’s got to be something more to it, something a mite more noble than puerile hair-tugging and following up on third party gossip. Seriously, it’s like that’s all they ever do on ALL of those conspiratorial dinner-having, lame party-throwing, table-flipping housewife shows, not just in ATL. I agree that it’s time to enlist a different group. Or at least somehow present an alternate view on the same show – like flip from the socialites to avergage moms, wives, etc. Anything to mix it up. Last season, I was sort of a fan of Nene, because it seemed that of them all she was the most forthright, as well as audaciously unafraid to be herself. This season, it seems everything’s all about airs and posturing. Nothing personal against her, but Kandi is not a great addition. She adds nothing of interest to the show. I respect that she’s used her creative talents and abilities to earn her own wealth. But, you don’t get a sense of maturity and wisdom that her age dictates she should have at this point. Bravo really needs to rethink this whole housewife madness.

Kim’ song “Tardy for the Party” is a total joke. On Bravo’s website today they ask if it woud be good, bad, or a career ending decision for Kandi to produce this song. 83% so far say it would be career ending. Kim or “Barbie” as she was known when she was taking her clothes off downtown at a local strip club, should stick to what she does best-nothing. She says she is 31 yet she looks 41,I guess it is the stripper scars. She is one heck of a role model for her young girls as she dates married men and makes a fool of herself on television getting into a barfight in the city.

Kim is no housewife! God only knows where her kids daddy is. She can’t keep a man down long enough to become a housewife. She should be called a housewife husband stealer, because that is what she is.

Looked online at the article…. Atlanta Mag is being a bit messy.. note the picture captioned “NeNe’s husband, Gregg, walked into the shoot just as NeNe was being photographed with our model, the “pool boy.” How convenient!”
THAT IS NOT HER HUSBAND… That may be her son or some one on the shot assiting but that is definately not her husband Gregg.. That is enough right there to show that ol Caroline Kilgore or whomever captioned the shots were being MESSY….

Kudos to Atlanta Magazine for cracking the code of how to get people to pay for online content. It’s (the content) just gotta be “trashionista” enough and they will come/pay. Brill.

Well,Well—
The only thing I see missing from this show is they should be living in double-wides in Conyers! If not for weaves and silicone for their “income producing looks”, they could not get a job at Mickey D’s, more like the late night Krystal shift~~~

Dear people who “can’t believe this trash is on tv”,

RHOA is no different than any other “trash” reality show……it’s entertainment, that’s all. If you don’t like it and want it off the air, don’t watch.

To the brainiac who made the comment “people who watch the show should be locked up for stupidity”….you are obviously VERY intelligent. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and insight with us…..my fellow “stupid morons”, we have been called out by an idiot. I hate it when that happens…..

I cannot believe that these trashy heffas have access to spitting out all of that negativity on national t.v. each week. I was so embarrased when you heffas were on the Ellen Show. OMG!!

It’s sad but between you Househeffas and Neffe and Frankie (can’t leave out Being Bobby Brown)we no longer think of Martin and Coretta, Spelman and Morehouse and so may other positive forces in Atl. Now we think of loud ignorant females.

Are any of you high school graduates? Everytime I turn the t.v. on Miss NeNe is standing there destroying the English language. Trying to talk “proper”.

What really upsets me is that when I was a child Amos ‘N Andy was taken off t.v. because people complained about being embarrased with their antics. Redd Foxx walked away from Sanford and Son because (according to him) the producers wanted them to act like N-words. Now here comes this trash. Shame on all of you for making such a mockery of Black women that really are well-to-do with husbands, families and educations. And Kim, you may think you’re fortunate to be in this circus, but bottom-line you’re trailer-park trash. Miss Big Poppa….

I’m so proud of the other lady that left the show. I was always confused about why she was involved because she carried herself LIKE A LADY!

Nene…if you’re asked to put your 2 cents in on the Red Carpet again, please remember this: It’s really not ALL ABOUT YOU…learn to be cordial to others and stop trying to turn that nose up like Dwight does!!!

Kim you certainly know “your” trash when you see it!!! You are about as trashy as anyone can possibly get. I am over this show already. I will stop watching it if they continue to give her any more press!!

Does it really matter what a magazine says? Seriously, it really doesn’t matter. No matter how rich, how influential, or how perfect these women think they are, the public will form their own opinion based on what they’ve seen on the show.

Don’t they realize by now that the media, magazines, and producers all have a hand in creating those personas for the public to either love or hate?

If you don’t want the bad press, then stay out of it.
