‘Housewives ATL’ Whitfield: Banned from FAB?
Sheree Whitfield: NOT banned from FAB. Whew.
Despite rumors circulating around the city to the contrary, French American Brasserie manager Cindy Brown assured Buzz Thursday that “Real Housewives of Atlanta” designer/divorcee Sheree Whitfield is not currently banned from the posh downtown eatery, following a fracas there caught on film for the Bravo reality series.
During an interview with B98.5 FM’s Steve McCoy and Vikki Locke Thursday morning, Locke asked Whitfield about a rumor she’d heard that the restaurant had placed a photo of Whitfield in the window.
With a red circle and a slash through it.
“I have no idea where that rumor started but I can assure you that there is no ban,” Brown told Buzz. “In fact, the ladies had been back in numerous times since that incident.”
As fans of the Bravo show know, the last two weeks of episodes have centered on a catfight that erupted in the middle of FAB’s dining room between Whitfield and fellow “Housewives” cast members Kim Zolciak and Nene Leakes.
With cameras rolling, the argument escalated outside onto Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard where Whitfield tried to hand Zolciak her head. Literally.
During Thursday’s interview, Whitfield told Steve and Vikki that she didn’t snatch Zolciak’s weave off her head, she merely “shifted it a little.”
Brown doesn’t care in the current economy. The national exposure from the show’s oft-repeated episodes has transformed FAB into an instant tourist attraction.
Explains Brown: “People are actually posing for pictures out in front of the restaurant [the site of the attempted weave-whacking] and they’re requesting to sit at the table where the fight happened. It’s pretty hilarious.”

And for this very reason, I will NEVER patronize this FAB establishment again. How utterly tacky of Brown to lower himself to this common gutter trash that is “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Along with Murphy’s in the Highlands and Twist in Buckhead, I’ve now scratched FAB off of list. What an insult to all that is good about Atlanta. Thanks, Brown, you’ve just managed to take yourself down to the level of ghetto fab Ruby Tuesdays. What a shame.

Banned or not, if Sheree wants to be respected she should not carry on so. Some may say this is all an act; however what respectable person would allow themselves to be manipulated in such a manner, all in the name of a few 100K, not a lot of money in this day and time. In addition, even if this is fake “reality tv”, the info gleaned from Sheree personal life indicates that she has no respect for herself or her children. Sure she will pick up some other guy who may or may not provide her with the lifestyled she feel entitled to; however in most of our eyes she is what Kanye referred to as a “golddigger” with no substance.

Brown/FAB should know this is very short term gain and long term loss. What respectable establishment would want such trash darkening their door? FAB is very close to where I work, but so is Room, BLT, and a host of other finer eateries which can be counted on for appropriate behavior as well as quality of food.
If I want to watch trash at play, I’ll turn on the WWE. I will not patronize an establishment whose customer base is the wretched losers of not-Atlanta.

I am a stickler for correct grammar and puncutation. I have two English degrees. I said that to say this: An individual’s subject-verb agreement is no indication of his/her salary. I know individuals in the field of education who struggle with grammar and they are making six figures. So, just because you caught Loveit’s mistakes doesn’t make her a worshipper of labels or uneducated. You obviously have low esteem, and it makes you feel good about yourself to point out other’s flaws. Whatever floats your boat, but lay off the sister.

Our culture just keeps descending lower and lower into the sewer. From Paris Hilton to Kendra to Brittney to the Kardashians and now to these ghetto girls masquerading as women with class. Does TV put on any normal, respectable people with normal values? Good thing I only wasted 30 minutes of my life watching ATL wives. I just had to see if it was as bad as I had heard it was.
And is it true that 2 or 3 of these women got foreclosed on and evicted? I remember when I was young watching an NBA star making millions getting turned down for a $500 credit line. Then we got Evander who is broke after grossing 250 million, Mike Tyson is broke after grossing 450 million, and that “can’t touch this” rapper who went broke after making 33 million in one year.
What on earth is it with these people that they just don’t want to pay their bills and live within their means? Must be the same group of people who put Obama in the white house and don’t seem to mind that he quadrupled the national deficit in 90 days and now the country is headed straight towards bankruptcy. Outsourcing has been going on for quite a while now. They only came up with the term in the last few years to bash Bush. But outsourcing labor to cheap labor markets has been going on ever since there was free trade.
Overall, globalization is good in economics. The economic term is called comparative advantage and while there will be winners and losers in our economy overall we will all be better off.
What are you gonna do? Deny an Indian or Pakistani a right to make a living just because they can make or do something more cheaply then someone here in the US? Are you then going to put us into a protectionist mode and pay people $20 an hour to save a few thousand textile jobs? And then everyone can pay $5 for a towel at Walmart as opposed to paying $1 if we let the Pakistanis or Chinese make the item. Let them do what they do best which is cheap, labor intensive markets and let us retrain our workers for more human capital jobs.

I have not actually ever watched this show but I read this online publication and the comments about this show are my guilty pleasure. I find it extremely humorous how seriously people take this mindless chatter and it’s also rather laughable when I read those who quote dollars and cents they feel should be awe-inspiring. I’m sorry to be so blunt Loveit, but that really isn’t becoming and I would keep that information to myself, your salary (which I assume means you have a job and are not self-employed) isn’t really impressive . I’m not an authority on black women being a white man and all. But I’ve worked with a lot of professional black women who were wives, mothers , co-workers, etc. The black women I worked with in the corporate world do not resemble these clowns. The Harwell-Wu girl seems to have her stuff togther but the others and the white girl just seem to be very shallow people whose only interest seems to be themselves and of course money. I would hardly think these women would be representative of Atlanta women. At least I hope not anyway

Last episode they showed Kim at Barron’s of London hair salon – I laughed so much. I actually went there once – and only once. The owner (who cut her hair on the show) is nasty to this employees and his customers…very arrogant and not all that great either. Hilarious to me. What a coincidence. I had to mention that…

By the way, the outsourcing of CT scans reading to India is being done but it ultimately gets reread by an American radiologist here in the states or at least rubber stamped. And the American Academy of Radiology really frowns upon the outsourcing (they’re trying to protect their territory). So instead of 100 readings by the radiologist he can do 200. However if they miss a mass or an abnormal finding then the blame is on the American radiologist. It’s not necessarily cheaper, you’re just making that radiologist group richer. They still charge the full rate to MEdicare, Aetna, etc.
