I can’t believe he is gone. He was such a story teller and I could not wait to see what Basil would do next. I guess we will never know.

Wow I am so shocked, I just finish reading Basket Ball Jones I have red every single thing that he has written..wow this will be a great loss…condolence to his friends and family

My condolences to E.Lynn Harris family. I met him at a book signing once and he was TRULY a great down to earth person that had a Beautiful spirit about him. When I read Invisible Life I cried. To “Sammie”, what does it matter if he had Aids or not, it doesn’t matter. My mother always told me,” if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”, in this case Sammie, your comment wasn’t necessary at all, you wasted time writing it, this is NOT ABOUT YOU ! We are E.Lynn Harris fans, we loved him and he’ll TRULY be missed. Will you ?

As a straight white male, one could assume that I was not part of a demograhic that would have read Mr. Harris’s work. Thanks to a former girlfriend, I was exposed to his books. I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Harris’ writing, especially his autobiography. He didn’t write about my experience per se’, but he wrote about the human experience with such depth and fidelity that I feel I learned something new after each reading. I hope he and his family find peace and love during this difficult time. Thank you Mr. Harris, you will be missed.
