Following the death of her superstar brother, Janet Jackson, who is set to star in “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too?” (currently shooting here in Atlanta), the actress-singer’s manager Kenneth Crear has issued the following statement to the media:
“Janet Jackson is grief-stricken and devastated at the sudden loss of her brother. She is in pre-production of a film and is flying immediately to California to be with her family.”
Possible translation: The part-time Atlantan and steady of Atlanta music producer Jermaine Dupri was perhaps here when the world learned of Michael Jackson’s death Thursday night and flew back to the west coast to be with her family.
On Saturday, the cast members from “Married” are among the celebrities scheduled to walk the red carpet as the Atlanta Urban League honors Tyler Perry as a part of its Community Empowerment Day celebration here.
It’s not immediately known how unexpected Jackson’s death will affect the Atlanta shoot of the film, a sequel to Perry’s popular 2007 ensemble drama. Perry has told us that Jackson’s Patricia therapist character figures prominently in the sequel’s plot.
Perry’s Los Angeles-based spokeswoman Keleigh Thomas has not returned an email and a phone call seeking a statement from Perry’s camp.
Meanwhile, Jackson’s long-time boyfriend, music mogul Dupri’s Twitter page remained oddly silent Friday. His last entry was from 16 hours prior, well before Michael Jackson’s death was announced.

There is nothing funny about this tragic loss for the Jackson family. Please try to be considerate of the feelings of those he’s left behind.

Yes…please be considerate of those left behind by Mr Jackson like those young boys who were given alcohol then molested. Are those are the ones left behind of which you speak?

Your Stockbroker, is what is wrong with our society. No matter what you thought of the man, at least try to have some human compassion for the family and friends left behind. The children will read things like this from idiots like you. Grow up and get a life.

AJC ownership/management please remove the above post “Your Stockbroker”. There are many of us that would prefer to focus on the positive moments in Mr. Jackson’s short lived life.

I am in shock. Not because of how he passed, but it’s so sudden. IF plastic surgeries, skin bleaching, etc didn’t kill him, the fact that “something” caused SUDDEN cardiac arrest is disturbing to me. I can’t get past that. I believe the people he had around him were enablers and that dose of Demerol was the catalyst. I am 29. Everything I know about music is based around Michael Jackson. My parents are in shock. My mom has been playing his music since 5pm yesterday.
I’m sad and upset at the same time. The people around him killed him or allowed him to slowly kill himself. I hope Michael is finally at some peace, which he certainly didn’t get here on Earth. No man can you peace. It must come from within. MJ relied to heavily on man.
My fiance and I have MJ wallpapers on our iphones as a tribute. Our wedding reception will now consist of the entire Off The Wall catalog…on repeat!!!!

I remember Michael in the early 70s and enjoyed his thriller album, but really. Any man that thinks that it is OK to have young boys in his bed is/was sick. He will be judged by God just like the rest of us when we die.
