The folks at Live Nation and the Piedmont Conservancy have called an 11 a.m. press conference today to announce what they are calling “the biggest concert event of the summer!”
Even in the age of Twitter, Live Nation has so far been able to keep a lid on the unnamed artist. The concert in Piedmont Park will serve as a benefit for the Piedmont Conservancy.
When we ran into veteran Atlanta concert promoter and Live Nation Atlanta president Peter Conlon, he was officially keeping mum at Tuesday’s 2009 Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee luncheon.
All Conlon would confirm at the time was that the artist would “dwarf” 2007’s Piedmont Park concert featuring Dave Matthews Band and The Allman Brothers Band. That conservancy benefit drew more than 50,000 attendees and spawned a best-selling concert DVD.
Check back with Peach Buzz and AJC.com later this morning for all the details on the show.
