Poncey-Highland resident Jane Fonda first hit the Tonys stage Sunday night as the presenter of the Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play award.

Fonda, looked gorgeous (if a bit wafer thin)  in an ebony floor-length gown by New York designer Reem Acra. She whipped out her spectacles to announce the winner, “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” actor Roger Robinson.

Joking about Fonda’s first role on Broadway in “33 Variations” after a 46-year hiatus, Tonys host Neil Patrick Harris, with a nod to Tony winner Angela Lansbury, cracked: “We can look forward to her run in 2055 in “Blithe Spirit.”
