Thanks to talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, things are about to get a bit more orderly over at Georgia Tech. On today’s program dedicated to messy spaces (WSB-TV, 4 p.m.), Tech students Ashley Bush and Kali Watson’s Hefner Residence Hall dorm room will receive a much-needed makeover via organization expert Peter Walsh and carpenter and Tech alum Chip Wade. Also featured: Tech’s Phi Delta Theta fraternity house and frat brothers Joe Madden, Kevin Smith and Jack Nuttmann, who also will receive a much-needed house call from Walsh and company.
Tech spokeswoman Lisa Ray Grovenstein tells us the students scored the national exposure after sending in videos of their unkempt spaces.
After getting a peek at the retina -damaging “before” photos, Buzz can only pray that the first offending piece of clutter to be jettisoned at Hefner Hall was Bush and Watson’s not-quite-vintage-enough-to-be-ironic Spice Girls poster, possibly acquired at a yard sale in the last millennium.
Overscene
New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison chowing down on a hot corn beef brisket and swiss cheese sandwich at Corner Cafe in Buckhead. Corner Cafe bread manager Billy Blanksboro, a former New England resident, recognized the NFL player and went over to welcome him to Atlanta. In return, Harrison gave Blanksboro an autograph.
Singer Usher and his brother James Raymond and pals dancing at Whiskey Park inside the W hotel in Midtown.
Grits on the cheap
Inman Park chef Kevin Rathbun is scheduled to pay a visit to “Today” this morning. His mission: to teach budget-minded Americans how to cook that inexpensive Southern staple grits. Rathbun’s restaurant co-owner Cliff Bramble tells us Rathbun is slated to demonstrate grits three ways: as a breakfast dish with country ham, a side dish with mushrooms and a hearty shrimp and grits main entree.
“The idea is that, with the economy in the state that it is in, people can still eat great food inexpensively,” explained Bramble in an e-mail to Buzz.
Oh, and Rathbun’s mode of transportation to New York City will reflect his thrifty “Today” theme. Cracks Bramble: “Kevin is flying on AirTran and not a private jet!”

I have met Kevin Rathbun before…he is a jerk. Extremely conceited. I would and will never grace one of his restaurants. Pooh on you Kevin.
