Conspiracy theories thrive 50 years after JFK assassination

I have a theory that says there’s so many conspiracy theories because government-mandated water fluoridation has lowered our IQs to the point we care more about televised sports than facts.

Just kidding. No one really thinks that.

But the number of people who believe in conspiracy theories is growing faster than genetically modified crops.

Sixty-two percent of Americans believe Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone when he shot and killed President John F. Kennedy in Dallas 50 years ago today. In 1964, only 31 percent thought Oswald was part of a larger conspiracy to kill the president.

So, who helped Oswald? Experts say there are more than 100 conspiracy theories, but let’s look at a few of the more popular ones.

An unknown second shooter: Much ink has been spilled on the notion that a second gunman fired the lethal shot from the “grassy knoll” or even a storm drain. This notion was bolstered by amateur video shot that fateful day by Abraham Zapruder. In the Zapruder film, it appears Kennedy and Texas Gov. John Connally, who was riding with Kennedy, were shot by separate bullets only fractions of a second apart. Since Oswald’s rifle could only be fired once every 2.25 seconds, there had to be a second gunman, said conspiracy theorists. The Warren Report said one bullet struck both men, but some said the trajectory was impossible. They derisively said Oswald must have fired a “magic bullet” that did not obey the laws of physics. Later film analysis backs the conclusion of the Warren Report, that Oswald was the only gunman and he fired three times.

The CIA: Why would the CIA kill the president of the United States? Students of history will remember the failed CIA-assisted attack on Cuba known as “The Bay of Pigs Invasion,” which happened in April 1961. The CIA was assisting U.S. interests that wanted to oust Cuban leader Fidel Castro, who had ousted U.S.-backed Cuban President Fulgencio Batista in 1959. Kennedy, embarrassed by the CIA disaster, made big changes in the agency, limiting its power to launch large-scale military actions.

The KGB: The Soviets were mighty displeased with Kennedy after the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. Perhaps Oswald, while he was in Russia, had been trained by the KGB to become an assassin?

LBJ: Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, who is from Texas, wanted to be president so badly he arranged to have Kennedy executed. The Southern VP had many political and personal disagreements with the Yankee president, and feared he would be taken off the ticket in 1964.

The Mafia: The Mafia wanted JFK dead because his brother, Robert Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1968, was cracking down on organized crime while serving as U.S. Attorney General.

Could any of these theories be true?

Maybe, but it’s highly unlikely. There’s something called Occam’s razor that alleges the simplest explanation is often the correct one.

Let’s take a closer look at Oswald, who certainly fits the bill of a lone, crazed gunman:

  • Oswald, a former Marine, scored high enough with a rifle to be a sharpshooter, but was assigned to work as a radar operator and given a security clearance. His Marine comrades took to calling him “Oswaldskovich” because he liked talking about how much he liked communism.
  • Oswald quit the military and moved to the Soviet Union from 1959-1961 because he wanted to live as a communist. He slit his wrists so he wouldn’t be deported from the Soviet Union. Authorities there thought he was a bit nutty, but let him stay and set him up with a job and apartment.
  • Once he was living the communist dream, Oswald decided he wanted to be an American. In his diary, he wrote “The work is drab, the money I get has nowhere to be spent.”
  • He returned to the U.S. and bought a rifle in 1963. In April of that year, in Dallas, he allegedly attempted to kill retired U.S. Major General Edwin Walker, an outspoken anti-communist.
  • In May, Oswald was hired by the Reily Coffee Company whose owner, William Reily, was a backer of the Crusade to Free Cuba Committee, an anti-Castro organization.
  • Soon he was the sole member and organizer for the New Orleans chapter of the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, handing out leaflets that said “Hands off Cuba.”
  • In September of 1963, less than two months before shooting Kennedy, Oswald took a bus to Mexico City and tried to get a visa to go to Cuba. The visa request was not immediately approved so he returned to Dallas.
  • On Oct. 16, about a month before the shooting of JFK, Oswald got a job at the Texas School Book Depository.
  • About two weeks before the shooting, he visited the Dallas FBI offices and left a note that allegedly said “Let this be a warning. I will blow up the FBI and the Dallas Police Department if you don’t stop bothering my wife.”
  • Days before the shooting, Oswald is known to have read newspapers that detailed the president’s motorcade route through Dallas.
  • The day before the shooting, Oswald asked for a ride to pick up some “curtain rods” but authorities believe he actually picked up a rifle.
  • The day of the shooting, at 12:30 p.m., investigators say Oswald fired three shots from the sixth floor of the Texas Book Depository. Kennedy, riding in a convertible, was struck once in the back and once in the head. He was pronounced dead when rushed to a hospital.
  • At about 1:10 p.m., several witnesses said they saw Oswald shoot and kill a Dallas police officer that had stopped him as he was walking down the street.
  • During police interrogation, Oswald said he did not shoot Kennedy or the police officer. He said he was a Marxist and requested an attorney with Communist Party USA.

That was a bit long, but does it sound like Oswald had the motive, skills and opportunity to shoot a staunch anti-communist president?

Or, do we need a conspiracy theory to make it more interesting?

Many people would say the former, but then something bizarre happened, which really threw fuel on the fires of conspiracy.

Oswald, on Nov. 24, was shot to death while being transferred to the county jail.

A large crowd had gathered to see Oswald in a classic “perp walk” when Jack Ruby emerged with a gun and shot Oswald multiple times. The incident was captured by multiple photographers.

Jack Ruby said he shot Oswald because he was distraught over Kennedy’s death, wanted to spare Jacqueline Kennedy from having to endure a murder trial, and hoped to “redeem” Dallas in the eyes of America.

Ruby, a nightclub owner who may have had ties with an anti-Castro gunrunner, posed as a reporter to attend police press conferences after Kennedy’s shooting. At one press conference he corrected police who initially said Oswald was a member of an anti-Castro organization. He later told the FBI he carried a loaded handgun to at least one press conference.

Ruby, the conspiracy theorists say, was hired by the CIA to kill Oswald, who the CIA had hired to kill Kennedy.

Whew! Time to drink some fluoridated water.

Malcolm Wallace is the key figure in the Kennedy assassination. He was positively identified by Loy Factor as one of the sixth floor gunmen, as well as the recruiter and organizer of the conspiracy.

There has never been an official investigation into the JFK murder. Instead government officials embarked on an extensive disinformation campaign that is ongoing. Investigative reporters have provided solid evidence that the killing was a CIA coup. The best reporter on the subject has been Ross Baker who wrote the book “Family of Secrets”.

If Mr. Mathis would let me, I could post many dozen links to great articles that do far more justice to the better supported alternative narratives of the assassination (the term “conspiracy theory” was specifically invented by the government to disparage folks who questioned the Warren Commission report). It is quite sad to see a pathetic little paragraph detailing the alternative perpetrators when entire books have been written. It is also interesting that none of these players shows up in combination with any of the others. Johnson and the CIA, Johnson and the Mob, Johnson and his long list of Texas criminal cronies, etc. And “Poppy” Bush (George H. W. Bush) is also missing from the list though many authors have implicated him on the CIA end of the plot.

So anyone who is interested in something other than the stuff the mainstream media and the government is shoveling today should at least check out these great books:

Yesterdays Communists were less of a threat to America than are today’s liberals. Today’s liberals are heck-bent on killing American freedoms through a variety of ways, including out of control government spending that kills jobs, drives up prices, drives up our national debt, cuts benefits and ends up with millions of Americans on government assistance (EBT cards, obamacare, section 8 housing, etc).

Anyone who says they are progressive or liberal are really closet Communists or Marxists…or socialists. Did you catch Seattle’s first elected Socialist the other day? She told a group of Boeing machinists unions to “take over” the plant and turn it into a facility that produces products that would be useful to the community like buses, and that they should “get rid of” management because they were of no use to the community. What a complete quack…

Obama does not like Capitalism, and that is why he lies so much because if he told the truth about what he wants to do to the US, he would have never got elected. This has zero to do with his race, so don’t call me a racist! It’s his policies…

Those who sat on the Warren Commission:

Earl Warren – As Chief Justice, he had a key interest in preventing any “constitutional crisis” that might arise from evidence that pointed to a possible coup d’etat by Johnson or others within the government national security apparatus. His belief in the omnipotent power of the government over the people is evident in the numerous decisions that came out of his court.

Allen Dulles – former head of the CIA and recently fired by JFK after the failed Bay of Pigs (no conflict of interest there). The CIA’s hands are all over the evidence that dozens of authors have turned up over the years so his presence on the Commission is of no surprise.

Gerald Ford – the future president of the US. A nobody congressman from Michigan who would later go on to be chosen by Nixon to replace the convicted criminal Agnew, would later pardon Nixon for his obvious crimes against America and the constitution, and who would be the only president not elected by the people (or the electoral college – for those sticklers on how the process actually works).

John McCloy – former head of the World Bank – most people do not know about Executive Order 11110 that JFK singed on June 4, 1963 that re-empowered the Treasury to independently begin issuing Silver Certificates (dollars actually backed by silver bullion held by the US government) as a competitive currency to the monopoly money the Federal Reserve had been issuing since 1913. This single move sought to undermine and end the Federal Reserve monopoly on US currency that they held. As the World Bank too is essentially a branch of the bigger banking cartel of central banks and fiat money that controls the global money supply, his presence is also quite eye-opening. Johnson conveniently ended the Silver Certificate issuance as soon as he was sworn in as president.

Arlen Spector – He was a democrat, then a republican, then a democrat again. He was recommended to the Commission by Ford and he co-authored the fantasy “single bullet theory” that theoretically closed the books on the possibility of a second gunman. That this theory defies the laws of ballistics and physics is just part of the reason why so many seriously doubt the official government story.

Some may be able to add more to the information about the sordid list of players on this whitewash committee but just this sampling tells you all you need to know about its “independence” and who was pulling their strings.

I would like to post my father’s words about President John F. Kennedy, which he penned in his book and which I am still typing for him, posthumously.

My father’s words, of a different era (he was JFK’s age), can probably capture, better than I, why Kennedy was a beloved, outstanding president. See below:

“In 1960, the people of America elected a real Ivy-League scholar of the ‘top drawer.’ They elected the pride of Harvard University and our first Catholic president – the youthful, good-looking Irish-American, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. He was a man of class and refinement. In 1956, he had won the Pulitzer Prize in Literature for writing his book ‘Profiles in Courage.’ Kennedy was, no doubt, the greatest scholar to be elected since Dr. Woodrow Wilson. He was a lover of history, freedom, and the American Dream. He was a hero, wounded in combat in World War Two and had served with great dignity in the Congress of the United States since 1946. His style was all his own and he displayed rare eloquence in his speaking and personal demeanor.

Standing admidst bards and dignitaries in 1961, he rose in ‘top hat and tails’ to give America the most compelling Inaugural Address since Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address. With a rich Harvard accent and ringing beauty, the youngest President since Teddy Roosevelt told the American people and the world, ‘Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has passed to a new generation of Americans, born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage, and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today – at home – and around the world!’

- – ‘Let us never negotiate out of fear, but let us never fear to negotiate.’

- – ‘In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending Freedom in its hour of maximum danger! I do not shrink from that responsibility! I welcome it’ He concluded the thought, ‘The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all those who serve it – and the glow from that fire can truly light the world!’

- – ‘My fellow American, I say to you, ‘Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.’

- – ‘My fellow Citizens of the World, ‘Ask not what America can do for you, but what, together, we can do for the freedom of man!’

He launched the Peace Corps, the Job Corps, Outer Space exploration, the Civil Rights Movement. In 1963 he stated, ‘We, as a nation, are confronted primarily with a moral issue. It is as old as the Scriptures and as new as the American Constitution!’

His greatest legacy was signing the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty to which he stated, The supreme reality of our time is our indivisibility as children of God, and the common vulnerability of this planet.’ He set up programs to alleviate hunger, disease, discrimination, and ignorance. He made many trips abroad and was capturing the love of humanity. Once, when he had all of the winners of the Pulitzer Prize and Nobel Peace Prize in the Oval Office in the White House, he greeted them by saying, ‘Collected in this room tonight is more intelligence, here gathered, since Thomas Jefferson sat here alone.’ This was, no doubt, the largest tribute extended from one President to another one.

Like Abraham Lincoln, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated. Sir Winston Churchill of England said, ‘This loss to the United States and to the world is incalculable.’ He lived and died in the cause of Freedom, and like Lincoln, so long as Freedom shall stand, the name John Fitzgerald Kennedy shall stand!

After Kennedy’s death, Vice-President Lyndon Baines Johnson, the tall Texas stalwart became our President. John was a veteran of World War Two and had served in the Congress of the United States for 24 years. On November 27, 1963, he told a saddened America, ‘The greatest leader of our time has been struck down by the foulest deed of our time. No words are strong enough to express our sense of loss. No words are strong enough to express our determination to continue the forward thrust of American which he began!’ “

• A ‘Blame Republicans first, then anybody and everybody’ poster;

• A ‘Tax the Rich’ banner;

• A prayer rug;

• A letter assigning my debt to my grandchildren;

• And lastly, rose colored glasses.

Everything was made in “China” and all directions were in Spanish.

LBJ, Bush Sr (CIA), and Nixon all had a hand in it and were the main stakeholders. JFK pissed off the Banking system because he had plans to dismantle the FED and issued silver bonds to pay off the country’s debt, The military complex because he was planning to pull out Vietnam(I think) and the oil industry because he ended oil subsidies for the Oil industry. We already know about the Bay of Pigs and how fired the top brass but he planned to strip down the CIA to many pieces because he felt they had too much power and can actually start conflicts without his authorization. JFK ,being the player that he was, banged one of the CIA guys wife so he had a personal beef with JFK. The civil rights bill was icing on the cake but the CIA, Banking and plans to remove LBJ from the ticket did him in. Bush hired Mafia and Cuban hit men and coordinated the attach along with Malcolm Wallace (through LBJ) and secret service . They were all spotted in Dallas the night before at a party at Cliff Murchison mansion (oil tycoon) to finalize the plans. Murchison owned the Book repositiry building and another building across the way. FBI Hoover was blackmailed (homosexual) and was given a life appointment as director after LBJ became POTUS. After the assassination LBJ expanded the war in Vietnam. Killed plans to dismantle the FED and CIA and reached his life goal of POTUS. LBJ created the Warren commission to cover his tracks and since everyone had a hand in it. The secret was sealed. Oh yeah Nixon Watergate situation was based on Nixon trying to recover tapes of him telling on himself.

One more thing, there are reports that Bush Jr, killed JFK Jr, to keep up the family tradition. But you will have to google that story on your own

General Charles Cabell
Earle Cabell, former mayor of Dallas

General Cabell was never even called as a witness before the Warren Commission. One reason may have been that Alien Dulles, the former C.I.A. director (also fired by President Kennedy), was a member of the Commission and handled all leads relating to the Agency. During the nine years that Dulles had been the CIA’s chief. General Charles Cabell had been his deputy.

The Deputy Director for Operations at the time of the Bay of Pigs invasion was an Air Force Lt. General by the name of Charles Cabell. Cabell had overseen attempts by the CIA in collusion with the Mob – which wanted to regain its casinos and resorts in Havana, where it was running the largest money-laundering operation in the Western hemisphere – to take out Castro. It was Cabell who, in the presence of Dean Rusk, called JFK to plead with him for the close air support he believed the President had promised, but which JFK refused to provide. He would later return to the Pentagon, after being relieved of his position at the CIA by JFK, where he would describe the President as a “traitor”.

Charles Cabell was born in Dallas in 1903. His brother Earle was born near Dallas in 1906. In 1961, Earle Cabell became Mayor of the City of Dallas. In his capacity as Mayor, he not only supervised the police department but oversaw ceremonial activities, including parade routes and motorcades. There is no way that the Presidential motorcade could have taken the peculiar and improper route it took through Dealey Plaza – which even contradicted the route published in the morning paper – without the approval of the Mayor. The two combined motive, means, and opportunity. The psychodynamics of the assassination, as I reconstruct the crime, thus appear to have pitted two rich and powerful right-wing brothers against two rich and powerful left-wing brothers.

Of all the theories of what happened in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963, Oswald-as-the-shooter is the least likely. He was a mediocre shot, using a poorly designed low-velocity weapon, with a scope that was offline, shooting through Texas Live Oak trees at a tough angle, supposedly missing with the first shot but then deadly accurate the second and third times (just think about that for a second). He also supposedly used a bullet that created multiple wounds through skin and bone of two individuals but somehow emerged undamaged. He supposedly did all of this, by the way, while failing to leave any fingerprints on the weapon. By the way no one (I repeat no one) witnessed him firing the weapon and no one can even place him on the sixth floor during the time of the shooting. Once arrested, he proceeded to vigorously protest his innocence before being shot to death by a local hood, Jack Ruby. Ruby, who had ties to the Dallas police and shot Oswald to supposedly spare Jackie Kennedy the indignity of a trial for her husband’s assassin.

If Oswald actually killed Kennedy with this cheap mail order Italian rifle how is it the President’s right rear head was blown out?? The head wound was and still is consistant with a shot from the front. Exit wounds with a high powered rifle usually have a small entry mark followed by a larger quarter size exit.

The whole “magic” bullet thing is laughable at best.
