Fired librarian reported boss having sex

You never know what you will learn when you visit the library. An assistant librarian in New Mexico claims she’s learned quite a bit.

In a lawsuit, Jamie Kurz alleges she was fired from her job in Estancia, N.M., after she told the mayor her boss was having sex in the library’s children’s section.

Kurz’s lawyer told KRQE reporters his client showed up early to work one Friday in August and saw two vehicles in the parking lot. One belonged to the head librarian and the other was a city maintenance truck.

Once inside, Kurz said she heard “unusual noises” and found her boss and a city maintenance worker having sex on the floor.

The maintenance man asked Kurz to not say anything because he and the head librarian are both married to people they do not have sex with in the library.

Kurz told the city’s library director and mayor. Then the mayor fired both Kurz and the library director.

According to a letter from Mayor Sylvia Chavez, Kurz was fired for not turning over her key to the library.

Kurz’s attorney says the head librarian and maintenance worker still have their jobs because they are “close” to the mayor.

The attorney let the KRQE News 13 news crew listen to audio secretly recorded by Kurz. In it, the head librarian does not admit to having sex in the library, but allegedly does tell Kurz “if she can’t handle the situation, she should find another job.”

The library’s website still lists Kurz as assistant librarian. The head librarian is listed as “Angela Creamer.”

The website does not make mention of the children’s section being available for rent by the hour.

Angela Creamer? Is that her name or what she is good at?

Just Nasty…..completely nasty that the Kids of that Library would be left to READ and Play among the excreted leftovers from the Two Adults who have had a number of unauthorized romps in their area.

Someone needs to tell both of them, its time to get a ROOM!

I have always heard it is not what you know but who you know. Seems like the person who told knew facts but not the right people. I hope the married cheaters will be getting divorced because of this.

I don’t know any of these people, so I can’t say whether the head librarian and city maintenance worker were good at their jobs.
But presumably the mayor believed they were valuable enough that they should not be fired for having sex in the library.
Normally I would say the library employee who snitched got what was coming to her. Nobody likes a tattle tale. But if this event was evidence of a pattern of inappropriate conduct, rather than an aberration, then she probably did the right thing, and the mayor looks like a fool/loser for protecting losers. It leads one to suspect that the adulterous duo have some good dirt on the mayor.

Really? Nobody likes a tattletale? That is completely juvenile We tell our children to speak up when someone is doing something wrong yet adults get a pass? Public spaces and places of business aren’t supposed to be used for you to meet up for sex. If you need to do that, seriously rent a room. And you definitely don’t ask your co-workers to lie for you.

“The maintenance man asked Kurz to not say anything because he and the head librarian are both married to people they do not have sex with in the library.” Folks, this sentence begs a lot of questions, such as “Do the couple’s spouses refuse to have sex in the library, and only at home?” or should an anthropologist be called in to study whether people having sex in public buildings is a normal part of culture in Estancia? Or should the author have added some additional punctuation?

I suspect she was also humping the Mayor. She was hired by him against the will of the town’s library board.

I noted that too, Sven. I’ve heard of renting a motel by the hour for such intimacy, but the children’s section of the library? Different part of the country, for sure.

Great link, Jarvis. I like the quote by the mayor, “Creamer made an impression during the interview process” I suspect it was a lipstick impression.

Glad she reported it, not to embarass the two involved for absolutely tasteless and poor character, but for misuse of a taxpayer owned property reserved for children. Couldn’t these two VD/STD poster children have gotten a hotel room to make bacon in? They deserve to be fired for stupidity if for no other reason. If the Mayor or anyone else in gov’t did not punish them, they should be forcefully removed from office, and I’m not talking about the next election. Truth is stranger than fiction, especially with these small town, low life idiots…

Does the mayor actually appoint a “head librarian?” Seems like the library director would have fired her; hence, the need for the mayor to fire the library director. Well, their spouses know now, don’t they?

This Angela Creamer seems like a controversial person even a couple of years ago. The local board RESIGNED just because they did not agree with her hiring as head librarian. This is way before this controversry. And this was with another mayor in charge. This lady sure knows how to be friends with all the mayors.
