The law says it’s not always wrong to kill.
In Texas, a grand jury concludes it’s not a crime to beat a man to death if he’s molesting your daughter.
The 23-year-old father, who has not been named to protect his 5-year-old’s identity, said he heard his daughter screaming behind a barn. When he raced to the rescue, he found Jesus Mora Flores, 47, a ranch hand hired to help with the horses, attempting to rape his child.
Using nothing but his fists, the angry father unleashed a furious beatdown. Then the father called 911 and begged for an ambulance to find his rural ranch near the small town of Shiner.
“Come on! This guy is going to die on me!” the man is heard screaming on 911 audio played for the media Tuesday in a press conference called by the Lavaca County district attorney and sheriff.
By the time emergency crews responded, Flores, who was in the U.S. legally, was dead. His pants and underwear were down around his ankles.
Medical tests indicate the girl was molested.
The father was never arrested and will not face charges. A grand jury heard the frantic 911 call and concluded the killer was authorized to use deadly force to protect his daughter.
The father is just “a regular kid, went to dances, drank beer like the rest of the kids around here,” said neighbor Michael James Veit, 48. ”They won’t find a jury pool here that will convict him.”
The neighbor’s probably right about the jury, but the father and child victim will never be “regular kids” again.

Derek – it’s what Jesus did that got him killed. I don’t think the dad had a chance to give him a psychiatric evaluation…

Good thing this didn’t happen in California, they would have locked the father up, and gave the child to a group of molesters

I was sure by the opening paragraph of the story that this was one of those cases where a person was accused of crime, arrested, then killed in a fit of rage by someone who couldn’t wait for a trial so theaccused could plead his case. Heck, that’s how almost all of the media has reacted. After seeing the facts presented here, all I have to say for the father is “well done.” This rat had his pants down arround his knees and the girl was screaming. The evidence shows she was molested. Saying that her father was wrong to beat the life out of him is like saying a person should let a person kill you, then wait

We are a nation of laws. We must speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Mr. Flores was brutally attacked and killed, and we need answers.
This man should a trial of his peers.

Was this supposed to be a news story? Or an opinion column. If it was a news story, then the last line is completely inappropriate.”
Mr. Bull,
Look at your browser’s address bar; you’ll see http://blogs.ajc.com/news-to-me/2012/06/20/no-crime-in-beating-child-molester-to-death
The key word there is “blog”…..that should answer your question as well as satisfy your journalistic ethics…
