Facebook’s $20 billion dollar man probably didn’t get rich by being overly generous.
Now, Mark Zuckerberg’s penurious ways are attracting the attention of at least one Rome waiter, who received no tip from the Facebook founder.
Zuckerberg is in Italy on his honeymoon. He married longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan in his back yard the day after the social media giant’s company went public, making him and many of his employees some of the richest people on Earth.
London Telegraph reporter Nick Squires reports Zuckerberg and Chan really like artichokes. While honeymooning Monday, they dined on deep-fried artichokes, fried pumpkin flowers and ravioli stuffed with sea bass and more artichokes. The total bill – about $40. The tip? Zero.
Waiters at the “service included” restaurant Nonna Betta were “amazed” they didn’t at least get a Like, a Poke or even a friend request from Chan’s dog Beast.
Word is the happy couple also didn’t tip the night before after eating pizza.
This kind of news could make Italian waiters as depressed as Facebook’s stock.

Not surprised Zuckerberg is too cheap to leave a tip. (And while it is true that in Italy you do leave a lesser tip than we do in America – something like 3-5% – it IS appropriate to leave something, and Italians appreciate it very much. Those who say otherwise are either ignorant or self-serving.) Zuckerberg is simply an immature punk who has hoodwinked millions of suckers to give their personal information away so that Zuckerberg can make money off it.

I gave up on Facebook when Zuckerberg changed the rules about sharing members’ personal and private information to third parties. I also am not AT ALL interested in people’s toilet habits or what candybar they happen to be nibbling at the moment. I rarely used Facebook and found that my family and friends appreciated the letters and cards I began MAILING, and I realized I was helping to keep United States postal workers employed. Write a letter (by hand) and see how much it is enjoyed by your circle.

Poor choice of words in the headline. “Stiffing a waiter” means leaving a restaurant without paying the bill, leaving the waiter to make up the cost of your tab out of his own money. Zuckerberg didn’t do that, did he? If service is included on your bill, why would you tip more unless you had exceptional service, especially on a $40 tab?

This is a non-story about nothing aimed at air heads.

I realized not too long ago that wait staff expects tips based on the total bill, even though 7% of that is Uncle Sams honorarium. I now base my tip on the bill BEFORE taxes, and the quality of the service. Remember, it’s “gratitude” for a job well done; not an entitlement because you took a crappy job.

If it said “service included,” why expect an additional tip? It’s kind of like the 18%(!) gratuity with room service; do they really expect more?

Zuckerberg better like the taste of boogers, cause his food is about to be full of them.

Spit on his food before bringing it out . That usually sends the message.
