Facebook’s $20 billion dollar man probably didn’t get rich by being overly generous.
Now, Mark Zuckerberg’s penurious ways are attracting the attention of at least one Rome waiter, who received no tip from the Facebook founder.
Zuckerberg is in Italy on his honeymoon. He married longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan in his back yard the day after the social media giant’s company went public, making him and many of his employees some of the richest people on Earth.
London Telegraph reporter Nick Squires reports Zuckerberg and Chan really like artichokes. While honeymooning Monday, they dined on deep-fried artichokes, fried pumpkin flowers and ravioli stuffed with sea bass and more artichokes. The total bill – about $40. The tip? Zero.
Waiters at the “service included” restaurant Nonna Betta were “amazed” they didn’t at least get a Like, a Poke or even a friend request from Chan’s dog Beast.
Word is the happy couple also didn’t tip the night before after eating pizza.
This kind of news could make Italian waiters as depressed as Facebook’s stock.

I was in Tokyo for business a while back. I took a shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport. I went to tip the driver and he was very offended. The same has been true in Europe. I wish other countries would go to the “service included” method of payment. It is a nuisance to see a tip jar everywhere I go. I was a waitress for many years during my college years. I always felt as if I was begging for money back then, and I hated it. While I do tip in the US, 20% or more, I really hate the system.

Zuckerberg probably is saving his money as his stock is collapsing.

I don’t give tips if the service is bad.

“service included” means the tip is already built into the tab, no tipping required

Here’s a tip……don’t mention “service included” if one expects a tip.
I’m with him…..it’s tacky to expect one in a service included establishment, I don’t care how rich one might be.
Say what you mean and mean what you say.

“In some areas in Europe, tipping is considered a display of condescending American excess. Even though you may not intend to convey the message, basically what they think you are saying is “Here you go, I have more money than you and I am giving it to you since you need it.”
ROFLMAO
Service compris is considered the minimum. One would ordinarily leave an extra euro or two for good service. For a billionaire on his honeymoon to leave nothing is a bit odd. He might be considered a bit ‘tight.’ He could have gotten poor service.
No waiter I have ever met throughout Europe would EVER considered a generous tip for good service to be condescending.

With that kind of wealth (SERVICE INCLUDED OR NOT) he should have left a generous tip but his arrogence and jewishness got in the way. What do you expect.

Bryan is correct, tipping in Europe is not expected or appreciated usually.
