George Zimmerman seeks donations via new website
George Zimmerman, who says he shot and killed Florida teen Trayvon Martin in self-defense, has a new website where he’s asking for financial assistance from his supporters.

TheRealGeorgeZimmerman.com is missing animated gifs, but the non-working click counter definitely evokes web nostalgia. I almost dusted off the ole 56K modem and logged onto AOL to give it a proper gander.
Zimmerman’s lawyer, via Fox News, confirms the domain, registered April 8 with GoDaddy.com, is legit.
Why create a website?
Zimmerman alleges the “website’s sole purpose is to ensure my supporters they are receiving my full attention without any intermediaries.”
Then, just atop a PayPal button, he says he needs donations “for living expenses and legal defense, in lieu of my forced inability to maintain employment.”
Zimmerman, who has been in hiding since the Feb. 26 shooting in Sanford, Fla., says the shooting has been a “life altering event” that has forced him to “leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life.”
Trayvon Martin’s family blasted the new site on TV Tuesday morning, reports The Orlando Sentinel.
“You know he says that he experienced a life-altering event. Well, Trayvon Martin experienced a life-ending event,” said Benjamin Crump, an attorney for Trayvon Martin’s family on Good Morning America.
Zimmerman doesn’t reveal much on the site, though he does have a contact form where you can send him your best wishes, or best invective.
Instead, he lets the famous and allegedly wise get his message across via quotations.
On the “Facts” page, the quote is provided by James W. Loewen: “People have a right to their own opinions, but not to their own facts. Evidence must be located, not created, and opinions not backed by evidence cannot be given much weight.”
Unfortunately, Zimmerman says he cannot share any facts until the case is resolved.
There’s a curious “My Race” page, where Zimmerman lets pamphleteer Thomas Paine do the talking: “The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.”
The “Home” page features the Edmund Burke standard “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is that good men do nothing.”
Ironic choice of words, perhaps.

In cases like this when you have a person dead I think there should always be a trial, should be the way God did in the Old Testament when he set up refuge cities.
If you killed someone you had a place to go for protection from revenge if you were innocent, had trial and if found guilty you were killed.
I say at least have a trial.

Note: 911 Op asked are you following Him, she said “you don’t need to do that”. GZ responce was “OK”. can anyone confirm GZ was still following after he said OK? He stated he was looking for Address number, then returning to his truck.
I have know clue what happened but I have yet to hear one thing that conflicts with what GZ says happened.
I can understand TM’s mom’s concerns but have yet to hear anything that conflict with GZ story.
Things people saying about GZ don’t add up.
They say he killed TM in cold blood, but why if he was going to kill him would he call 911 to begin with. Why did he not kill the kids he call the 911 on a couple of weeks earlier (if he racist they were black) when he prevented robery.

But after reading the facts, and police reports, I do think travon was a thug, his past shows this with the drug dealing, the pot smoking, the beating up a bus driver, it does look good for George, god bless George.

This situation is hilarious. Michael Vic is convicted for dog fighting and Georgie which is what he will be called shortly is still chillin at home. You people who support Georgie are incredibly stupid. If Trayvon had done the killing he will be locked up right now and held over until trial. It is so sad that so many people cannot judge by the content of ones character but by the color of their skin. Especially the … who called Trayvon a punk.

this case with Trayvon Martin attacking a man in a State that has it’s history in history books. But this particular case reminds me of when young Zimmerman was almost murdered by a racist pigs for defending his neighborhood. George Zimmerman was told by the 911 operator to not follow Trayvon so he stopped. But rascists lie and say that he want to go on a vigilante like he was the police. Trayvon confronted and beat up Zimmerman. From th police survilence video Zimmerman had a broken nose liked he cliamed and gashes on the back of his head. Trayvon supporters are liars, who need to be jail not walking the streets. Trayvon was a danger to society and should be in jail.
