Mega Millions ‘winner’ a loser of winning ticket

Now imagine losing that winning ticket.
Now imagine lying about everything to any reporter who will listen.
That would seem to be the case of alleged Mega Millions winner Mirlande Wilson, 37, of Maryland, who’s claimed to have won a third of the world record $656 million lottery jackpot.
As you’ve doubtless read before, Wilson refused to share her presumptive millions with her McDonald’s co-workers, whom she had purchased tickets with in a pool.
Wilson, a Haitian immigrant and mother of seven, quit her fast-food gig by calling in to tell her former friends she was a millionaire and would not be sharing because she purchased the winning ticket separately from the office pool.
Today, NBC News reports Wilson has “misplaced” the ticket.
When asked if she was a teller of tall tales, Wilson told NBC “I did not make up no story to get no attention.”
Even her own attorney has never seen the alleged winning ticket, which makes me wonder about his mental state as much as his client’s.
So far, winners in Kansas and Illinois have yet to step forward. Baltimore must be full of tricksters — another man there claimed to have been the Maryland winner, but it was a cruel joke that made his mother cry instead of laugh.
Maryland lottery officials are urging people who bought tickets to check their numbers again to make sure they don’t have the winner. The fear is that the real winner may have thrown out a ticket worth millions because they thought someone else had already won the big prize.

Anybody stupid enough to do that without checking the numbers first does not deserve to win anything, period. Why would they even say that unless they think Maryland is full of dumb people? I was wondering a few things. When she purchased the ‘pool’ tickets were participants given a copy of the numbers? Was the winning ticket among them? I’m guessing no because no one has presented a copy as evidence.
Her claim is that she bought a ticket separate from the ‘pool’ tickets and won on that. Is it possible that one of the pool tickets did win and she is looking for a way to have someone else claim the prize so she doesn’t have to share?

everyone seems to think this lady is lying and wants 15 mins of fame, and never had the ticket…I believe she has the ticket, knows that if she comes forward with it, she will get sued by her former co-workers and lose (bc it has happened with other winners), so she is saying she misplaced it, but probably has a deal with a friend or family member who will claim they have it and win all that $, and obviously going to act like they don’t know this lady, lol, so she only has to give a percentage to this one person vs all her ex co-workers. She’s lying about losing it, and she’s smarter than you all think..whether she will get away with this scheme of hers, we can only wait and see, but she has a year to turn it in, so my guess, she’ll her her accomplice turn it in after all this hoopla dies down so she won’t be so terrified of a lawsuit…

Maryland knows if she is or is not the winner. They have a surveillance camera pointed at the lottery machine and claim to have the photo of the winner. Why they don’t just answer the question of whether of not she could possibly be the holder of the ticket is a mystery.

Keeping the pooled ticket at work — for others that are on the up and up, not necessarily Ms. Wilson — lets your co-workers know that you’ll be returning to the office and not making off with the original ticket. I would highly doubt that people that do lock up the tickets work with a bunch of amateur safe crackers well versed in picking Master locks.

The manager of the store said that could not be the case as Ms Mirlande never returned after leaving to buy the tickets. Now she is claiming she misplaced it?
The more likely story is the woman used the money to buy beer and never bought a ticket or one of the tickets won a few bucks and she used THAT money to buy beer. In either case she cheated her co-workers and that is why she quit. Why did she make up the story? Too much beer drinking is my guess.

You can only laugh at this situation. The woman is lucky enough to win over $200 million dollars, has the nerve to tell her co-workers she isn’t sharing a penny with them (even when they may have rights to it if indeed she actually bought the winning ticket alone), and then this idiot loses the ticket. I am wondering if she is still trying to claim this prize, and that the lottery owes her this money? Boy, you just can’t get any more dumb than this. I guess some people are just born to lose and live in mediocrity/failure. Nah, I just think it’s the choices she has made that allowed for something like this to actually happen, instead of being organized and educated about her decisions. Thanks for the laugh, because this is pretty great.

Too bad, you lose. The lottery won’t be sharing the winnings with you either. How the hell do you misplace the ticket, after you saw enough of it to call the co-workers your trying to cheat out of their share. Someone may steal the ticket from me…but misplacing the ticket would be an impossibility for me. How can you not remember where you placed your ticket that may be worth over half a billion dollars? Sorry, I don’t believe it.
