For decades I have lived under the assumption that Scooby-Doo served merely as a warning to pets everywhere.

Turns out, the beloved lover of potentially illicit Scooby Snacks is rather typical of his species.
Dogs love marijuana, says non-local vet Jennifer Schoedler. “I’ve seen them eat the buds, plants, joints and marijuana in food.”
Schoedler made the surprise announcement in a Durango (Colorado) Herald article entitled “Vets see more dogs snarfing humans’ medical pot.”
Durango vets say easier-to-come-by weed is “poisoning” man’s best friend.
“We used to see maybe one case a year,” said veterinarian Stacee Santi. “Now we’re seeing a couple a month.”
Marijuana, like chocolate and coffee, is bad for dogs, said Schoedler, and “stoned” pets may require hospitalization.
In Georgia, of course, we won’t have to worry about our pets “snarfing” our plant-based meds and getting sick — marijuana, in all its myriad forms, is illegal here. We also don’t have to worry about the government planting microchips in our brains. Our Legislature, which will soon convene again, is taking care of us.

I will say that if you have ever needed this for true medical purposes or had a family member that needed this you would be for it 100%. I was in a battle for my life and was prescribed the pill form of this drug which is legal in GA and while it made a difference the real thing helped tremendously. I truly do not think I would be here today without it. When you vomit non stop, want to eat nothing for a week at a time. and every bone in your body feels like a tractor trailer just ran over you, you will take relief in whatever form you can get it. I am a devout christian who is also a realist. Leagalize it, regulate it, tax it, and let countless cancer and other patients get much needed releif that we,they so badly deserve. I used to think this argument was silly but now I am on board. If you say “this is just a bunc of druggies wanting it legal” and hide behing your bible, then get on your knees and pray to whatever God you worship and pray that you never have to go through what myself or so many are going through.

I guess since it’s now been proven that the government has been lying all these years about pot not having beneficial effects on the health of humans lets make a big propaganda story to say that dogs are being wiped out by it. I would like to know just how many dogs have died this year or in past years from eating pot. This story conveniently leaves that fact out.
This story’s headline should be changed to: Canine Reefer Madness
I wonder if pot also turns dogs into prostitutes and bank robbers like the original Reefer Madness falsely claimed?

I did not find the humor in this article either. Big “C” Survivor, I am glad you were able to find relief from some of your pain and suffering. Medical usage needs to be allowed unconditionally.

I cant imagine how upset I would be if my dog got to my stash. That could break up a serious relationship and causing said dog to be BANNED from inside of my house Permanently.
