Church tweets protest of Steve Jobs funeral via iPhone

After the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, the #iSad hashtag is trending on Twitter.twitter-phelps

Westboro Baptist Church, a group that has forsaken human decency in the name of headlines, announced Wednesday night, in a tweet sent via #iPhone, a planned protest of the iPhone creator’s funeral.

Perhaps an #iRony hashtag would be appropriate?

Why protest Jobs?

Religious leader Margie J. Phelps, in responding to an Associated Press headline on Twitter concerning Jobs’ death, said the group would picket the funeral because Jobs had “a huge platform; gave God no glory and taught sin.”

Phelps, a lawyer and daughter of Westboro’s founder, Fred Phelps Sr., argued successfully before the Supreme Court that the thankfully tiny church had the First Amendment right to stage anti-gay and anti-war protests at the funerals of celebrities and U.S. soldiers.

Westboro’s leaders have been here before. In 2010 the group picketed Twitter’s offices in San Francisco. They tweeted about it, of course.

they are fortunate none of my family is presently in the service of our country and in harms way. If they were and death came their way and this group protested at their funeral, there would be a major incident involving my AK47 and their ignorance…’act ignorant and I’ll act ignorant with you.’ They would not denigrate my family’s loss and not suffer the consequences. They need to keep it in Westboro.

There are scumbags in all walks of life. To group these particular scumbags with all Christians is just as bigoted as any other narrow minded stereo-types. These people are not Christians in the true sense of the word at all.

A group of Hell’s Angels ought to meet them at the funeral and beat the love of Jesus out of them – permanently then we can picket their funeral.

Steve Jobs was responsible for taking the lives of those who committed suicide because of the horrible conditions they lived in as practically slaves in the plants in China that made the iPhones. He was also responsible for the many who developed chronic diseases from the chemical in another Chinese plant used to clean the IPhone screens. He was responsible for the data centers in this country that get their power from coal-fired power plants that kill thousands with their pollution and destroy beautiful land with their open mines and streams with their terrible polluting run off. His legacy is forever tarnish as no friend of humanity. All he did was give us some technology which History still has to decide has any redeeming value at all.

This is the same religious fanatic mindset that attempted to block Sunday alcohol sale in Georgia. These cretins would revive the Spanish Inquisition if they thought they could get away with it.

Fundamentally misguided and ultimately corrupting the message of love taught in the book they desecrate.
