Obama’s likeness used to sell fried chicken in China
While President Barack Obama seeks the secret recipe for U.S. economic growth, a fast-food restaurant in China is inferring he’s already privy to Colonel Sanders’ secret for fried chicken.
The short arm of trademark law.
The Daily Mail and other media outlets report Obama Fried Chicken is using advertising very similar to that used by KFC, aka known as Kentucky Fried Chicken before the word “fried” became a marketing pariah.
The Beijing business sign allegedly contains the phrase ‘We’re so cool, aren’t we?’ in Chinese, but Google translate cannot confirm that for me.
The restaurant’s name may be a way for restaurateurs to decry a tariff on U.S. chicken exports that, according to the New York Times, forces importers in China to pay twice as much per bird.
The restaurant’s sign was first spotted by TheShanghaiist.com.
Mediaite.com writes that using Obama’s likeness to sell fried chicken could be considered “unacceptably racist,” but this isn’t the first time such a thing has happened.
The Daily Mail article has pictures of U.S. businesses using the exact same name in Brooklyn and Harlem.
And KFC itself used an Obama lookalike in a television commercial that ran in Hong Kong. In that clip, KFC even borrows a sentiment from Obama’s 2008 campain … “Change is good.”

More racist blacks than whites, give me a break. Whites are predisposed to be racist. It is a part of their genetics. I’ve met whites that don’t even know why they have the views that they have. Damn devils.

the “They” I speak about is the Congressional Black Caucus and I will happily provide a link to the video showing a member calling Herman Cain exactly that. Perhaps you should concern yourself more with educating yourself on the realities of how rampant racism is in the black community than you should with my spelling.

Typical racist liberal comment… So she spelled hypocrisy wrong? Big deal. That does not make here any less right. Racism exists on both sides of the aisle. Do we have; Miss White America? The NAAWP? Of course we don’t. that is because of racist watchdogs like yourself looking to “turn the tables” on any person not of color. It is no longer about color or racism, let’s all please quit wearing out that monicker. You would think that Obama’s election would at least signal that at least it is a dead issue with most races in this country. If you have something substantive to say other than to slam someone for their spelling, please feel free to do so. Most everyone on these boards can spell pretty well, but do not have the time to run their writing through a spell checker, as most of us are taking small breaks and are merely inputting our opinion, not re-writing the constitution as our president is attemting with his healthcare plan. Just relax.
Having lived in Atlanta ALL OF MY LIFE, I have seen racism from all sides of the race aisle. Being a caucasian myself, I have even experienced so-called “reverse discrimination”. Does that both me? Not in the least.
Why is it that “honkey”, “cracker” and “white MF” can be said in our streets and on TV daily with impunity, while someone from ANOTHER culture (country even) can infer that a president likes fried chicken is linked to racism? Guess what, I like chicken too. Since I am not famous, I guess that the Chinese do not want to use my face for their advertising then do they? At least Obama will be remembered past his failed presidency for something other than his extreme liberal leanings and overt attempts to push this country into a European socialist society.
The “they” LL is referring to would include liberal racists like yourself that use slurs against others but feel empowered to lose their minds if a racial tone is even inferred by accident from other groups that do not even understand that their comments could be viewed as such.
I wish Herman Cain would make it to the primary, if anything just to take the race card off the table for liberal racists like yourself. Besides, he would destroy the community organizer in a logical debate in my opinion. Herman Cain represents many conservatives quite well with his positions on the economy and the government’s place in our lives. It would be great for him to run on his own merits rather than be slandered by liberal racists with magnificently thin skins when the tables are turned and logic is used by someone of their own race to address our countries woes. Typical of a liberal racist, you turn to “nasty speak” in lieu of logic to try and win your arguement.
