Discrimination bake sale half-baked?
CNN doesn’t cover a lot of bake sales, but one in California is getting plenty of media attention.

A Republican student group at the University of California at Berkeley (that felt weird to type) is selling cookies and brownies, but the price of the baked goods is based on gender and race.
White men pay the most. Native American women eat free. The price list is in the photo.
The stunt is meant to be racist, discriminatory and get attention, organizers say.
Mission accomplished.
The Republican group is upset that the university, like most government agencies, uses gender and race to determine who gets admitted or hired, reports CNN.
Berkeley’s student government has “condemned” the “use of discrimination whether it is in satire or in seriousness by any student group.”
Proceeds from the sale will go to charity.
The unanswered question? Are those brownies any good? And are they packing the mystery ingredient beloved by 1960s Berkeley protesters?
Probably not. Conservative hash brownies would be news.

It is so hard to sit here and not make a comment about this. First, let us look a who actually sold the the Blacks to America to start with. Blacks were sold to the American White and Black people from their own African folks. So, BOTH white and blacks owed slaves but you only hear about “Whitey or the Cracker” owning slaves. My Lord in Heaven, just how many years ago was that? What, do you really think that you can change the past? No matter what you do or say, you will never be able to take the hurt/pain away from anyone because of some poor mistakes that was made years ago.
Everyone knows that the most discriminated person in the US is the middle aged white male. Don’t believe me, look up the figures. Better yet, isn’t it time for all groups to come together and drop to our knees and pray that God reaches down and touches us and blesses us? Trust me, I know he can because I am a firm believer as well as a miracle of God. What to hear my story, well it will be coming out soon, I hope. I know, I know. There are going to be a lot of you out there that say there is no God or that I am a Jesus freak. Calling me a Jesus freak is just fine with me as I guess you can say that yes, I Love the Lord in Heaven and I have seen what Jesus can do when people pray. For those that do not believe in God or Jesus, please stop using his name when you decide to use a cuss word with it and when your time has come to leave this earth, please remember when you are burning in hell that it was your decision to turn your back on him to start with. He has never turned his back on you like I thought he turned his back on me. Again, I know there are a bunch of you out there that couldn’t care less what I say here and that is fine. You have to live your life the best way you know how.
Was this appropriate for someone to do, no it was not. Whether it was a White, Black, Asian, Mexican , etc…, Man, Woman, Mixed, it was not appropriate for anyone to list these prices out there they way it was done. If it were me, FREE FOR ALL! I pray that God touches this country before it is really to late.

Does anyone here even realize what they are protesting? All the people calling this racist, they admit that it is SUPPOSED to be, so you’re really not proving anything. They’re protesting the fact that a bill was passed in California that will cause race and gender to be taken into account when accepting students to state universities. Is that not also racist? Or am I missing something?

Affirmative Action is racist. No question about that. A white/asian person has to score way higher on an SAT/MCAT/LSAT etc to get into college than a black/hispanic person.

Unfortunately, Denise, the ones who care the most about race are the politicians who use race and race-baiting to emotionally involve the electorate and make a point. An example is the media driven concept that the Tea Party members are all racists…..that lie fairly effectively erases their efforts to slow government down, and reduce spending….
