Police (Off)Beat | Mother-daughter license swap fails again

  • A 41-year-old woman pulled over on James Jackson Parkway didn’t have a license or ID, but gave police her 25-year-old daughter’s name and date of birth. She then called her daughter and yelled “Bring me my license, you have it in your purse.” All the Oil of Olay in the world couldn’t slide that ruse past a conscious and alert Atlanta police officer.

Ponce de Leon can be frightening after dark.

Ponce de Leon can be frightening after dark.

  • An Atlanta woman thinks the man she called to fix the elevator in her Townsend Place home stole a $2,000 Tiffany earring.
  • An employee at Hertz’s airport location told Atlanta police that at least four cars rented recently were not returned. Total value of the missing rides: $61,000
  • A Kennesaw resident called police after observing a nude man hugging his mailbox on Waybridge Drive.
  • On Winters Chapel Road in north DeKalb, a woman was so scared when she saw a knife-wielding burglar enter her home she passed out.
  • A man wearing a police uniform, including a gun, was arrested after forcing his way inside an apartment while shouting “Marietta police.” He threatened to use his gun and handcuffs while taking $600 from a woman.
  • A mom didn’t believe her 6-year old-daughter when she said her mom’s new boyfriend was “touching her privates,” but a babysitter did and called police. The man is in the DeKalb jail on multiple child molestation accounts.
  • A 51-year-old Marietta man receiving a sexual service from a 65-year-old Griffin man at a Buford highway theater tried to bite police when the matinee was interrupted.
  • A MARTA driver who tried to break up a fight between a man and woman on Route 115 on Redan Road was punched in the face for his effort.
  • An Atlanta man says mysterious charges appear on his monthly credit card bill every time he uses his Discover card to eat a Mexican restaurant on Roswell Road. He’s been charged an extra $1959.71 so far.
  • A man pulled over for texting while driving on Piedmont Road had no license, was drinking a Rolling Rock and carrying a gun he “bought from a friend” without a carry permit.
  • A man wearing a “very short black dress” refused to leave the 100 block of Ponce de Leon when police asked nicely. A less fashionable orange jumpsuit was soon provided. Three men wearing dresses and swinging alluringly from light poles alongside nearby Myrtle Street got the same duds.
  • A woman who received a $20 bill in change from the Howell Mill Road Walmart was told the bill was counterfeit when she tried to use in at a fast food restaurant.

“A 51-year-old Marietta man receiving a sexual service from a 65-year-old Griffin man at a Buford highway theater tried to bite police when the matinee was interrupted.”

I guess the movie playing must have been “Romancing The Bone”.

God Bless the babysitter for having good sense, she deserves to obe rewarded! For the ‘mom”, she should be thrown in prison and the keys thrown into the deepest sea!! Children should be able to trust their mothers and when the little girl told her mom, if the mom had any sense at all, she would have believed her, Most children Do Not make up stories like that! Poor excuse for a mother. Give the little girl to the babysitter!

I personally feel that $1959.71 is small amount considering the man keeps “eat(ing) a Mexican restaurant” if he were to eat my cafe, I would charge him about 100k, also a set of teeth or heavy equipment would be much more effective for eating said restaurant than a flimsy credit card…. Lol @ Just Sayin’. One question- if he gets mysterious charges after using his card there, wouldn’t you think he would either stop eating there or use cash???
