Sesame Street denizens Bert & Ernie are just friends, according to an anonymous spokesman for the eternal children’s program, and will not be getting married.

Pals.
“Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics … they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation,” said Sesame Street on its Facebook page Thursday.
The statement was made in response to an online petition calling for Bert and Ernie to get married.
Bert and Ernie could not be reached for comment because they are not people.

And yet…just a few years ago…when people were saying “Bert and Ernie are two single guys living in the same house, so they MUST be gay”…the same gay rights people were raising hell.

Kids who are watching Sesame Street are WAY to young for this crap. In order to understand sexual orientation, you have to have a basis of knowledge in sex. Preschools should not have that knowledge!! Let’s let kids remain innocent as long as possible, shall we!

Actually it was Pat Robertson the nutjob from The 700 Club that started all of this, not the Gay and Lesbian community.

I am sick of the gay community thinking that they should have their lifestyle inflicted on every aspect of life. Please leave the children alone and let them stay innocent as long as possible. I guess they will have a gay bible next and have the three wise men getting married and sleeping with each other.

Clemsondude- I chose to be straight around middle school when puberty and hormones started to set in. Never occured to me to try and kiss another dude.
If I wanna have sex with a horse I will expect you to tolerate me because I’m being “me”.
