Sesame Street: Bert & Ernie just ‘friends’
Sesame Street denizens Bert & Ernie are just friends, according to an anonymous spokesman for the eternal children’s program, and will not be getting married.
Pals.
“Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics … they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation,” said Sesame Street on its Facebook page Thursday.
The statement was made in response to an online petition calling for Bert and Ernie to get married.
Bert and Ernie could not be reached for comment because they are not people.

Be gay if you want to or even if you feel you can’t help it. But for all our sakes, sit down, be gay and shut up. It is sickening that this has even come up between Bert & Ernie. And is it sad that 2 members of the same sex who are really good friends are automatically assumed to be gay. I am a Christian and will not treat you any differently than I would anyone else. I will not judge you but leave the judging up to God but please stop lobbying to make everyone and everything a gay thing.

God may have chosen your sexuality… but that means that he also chose the sexuality of everyone… gay and straight alike. In god’s eyes, there are no mistakes. Everything is created with intent. It also is said that God is the only one that can judge… I am not sure what people are thinking… judging others is clearly Gods work. Are you above God, and that is why you have decided to take on his duties? I think not.

Honest to Goodness! Why do these people need to shove their agenda down our throats! Thank you PBS for standing your ground and not bowing down to people’s need to force sexuality into childrens programing. Kids are growing up way too quickly these days. They need to be allowed to be children and not exposed to everything at such a young age.
