Sesame Street denizens Bert & Ernie are just friends, according to an anonymous spokesman for the eternal children’s program, and will not be getting married.

Pals.
“Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics … they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation,” said Sesame Street on its Facebook page Thursday.
The statement was made in response to an online petition calling for Bert and Ernie to get married.
Bert and Ernie could not be reached for comment because they are not people.

I was in Midtown a few years back hanging at Blakes on the Park, when at the end of the bar sits Bert. Calmly, I sit down and start a casual conversation. However, Bert’s not having any part of it. He’s really looped and he claimed that he caught Ernie in a Man 4 Man chat room on the internet. Ernie had been cheating on him the last few years! I told him to go home and talk things out with Ernie. Bert walked away with tears in his eyes. Looks like they were able to put things back together. I’m glad because they make such a cute couple on Sesame Street.

Grammarking- so as long as their are two willing parties it’s ok to do whatever you want?? Keep believing that you were born that way. Like I said, that way you can be absolved of any guilt. If a 13 yr old and a 30 year old have sex but both were willing participants then it’s ok?? No? Why? Disgusting? Perverse? Unnatural? Wrong? But they were both willing participants.
The many who went on a shooting rampage at VT, the boys from Columbine, they were all born that way? Or does that argument only work when it supports yours?

I’m sure Bert and Ernie, if they had the money, would have bought and kept the Thrashers in Atlanta…

Grammar King speaks the truth. Too bad the moral majority believes THEIR way is the only way.

For this to even have been comtemplated in the minds of gay people is completely outrageous. You people need to stop trying to gayify America!

I do teach my children about homosexuality. I teach them that according to the word of God, it’s wrong. I teach to them to respect everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, color, ability, sex, etc. However, I will not teach them to go along with something that word of God speaks against just because society deems it to be okay. Society is not responsible for their souls, they are.

Grammar – do you know how many groups in this country are denied various “rights”? Not everyone in this country can get married. Not everyone can serve in the military. And so on and so on. Your line is a load. As far as being very secure, I’d disagree. Anyone who has to publicly shove their sexuality in other people’s faces is insecure – straight or gay. Anyone demanding attention based on sexuality is insecure with their sexuality. The person who just chooses to go on about their daily life without telling everyone who they prefer to have sex with is the secure one.
Rodney – your statement about the “lie”? You’re contradicting your own previous paragraph. You don’t know me or my thinking. So by default your back to back statements are hypocritical. Love the sinner hate the sin is not a lie. It is what God has done for us. It is what Christ lived for us. No one is perfect. We all live in sin, even those who are saved. But to know something is a sin and continually and defiantly live the sin after knowing that it is a sin and the consequences is where God draws the line. We will stumble. As long as we live here in this flesh, we will stumble. But if you choose to willingly stumble and to do so over and over – to give in to a fleshly desire rather than to give into God’s will and purpose, you, me, and everyone else will be judged on that.

Baon Bob- Ernie and I was playing some basketball the other day. He told me that him and Bert needed to talk. I told Ernie when he talks to Bert to come straight and honest. I told him to talk from the heart not your head.

Really? – I think you have a skewed vision for what Christians are taught. Sounds like you could use a lesson in tolerance as well. Same with the other Lefties on here. I love how you all come on here saying how much you hate Christians and then say you wish everyone was tolerant like you. It’s really sad to see how the Left is filled with such hypocrisy – saying people should be tolerant but then hating those who differ with their opinion. Seeing how much hatred and vitriol there is for Christians, I’d honestly hate to be “tolerant” like the anti-Christians.
