‘Cone-ing’ Internet craze a waste of good ice cream

The Australians love to document their antics.

Eating the wrong end of food is not funny.

Eating the wrong end of food is not funny.

First, there was ‘planking,’ wherein the truly bored risk life and limb for an unusual Facebook photo.

Now, denizens of The Land Down Under are surprising fast-food workers by “cone-ing.”

According to an article by ABC News and many YouTube videos, the clearly misnamed art of cone-ing involves grabbing the non-cone end of a cold treat to get a reaction from minimum wage employees.

Some people find this behavior funny, says ABC:  Maddy Curotte, a follower of the Cone-ing Facebook page, wrote, “Oh my god, I have not laughed that hard at a YouTube video in a while. Brilliant!”

Maybe Maddy needs to get out more.

Fast-food workers have enough problems, like getting my order right. Why use them as unpaid props?

Another example of societies with too much money available. Between this and breaking necks to watch to get a seat in a murder trial… it’s obvious some folks have too much time and money on their hands.

Well the Australians can at last truthfully claim that they’ve invented something.

I am definately ready for another bout of gut busting hilarity! Afterall, the folks down under must do plenty more things “upside down”. (oh dear, I’m giving them more ideas)

Indigenous Austrailans were thousands of years late inventing the throwing stick.

As for cone-ing, this is absolutely stupid and messy.

Stupidity at its finest. Both the article and its subject matter.

Everything old is new again! We did this as children in the Caribbean in the 1950s.

If they really think this is funny we should turn Austraila back into a prison colony.

although it sucks for a fast food worker i think you are being too hard on pranksters. i personally don’t see the harm in it, the guy pays for the food, so it’s not like the company picks up that tab and the prankster is the one who has to clean up his mess from his own prank so to me this is harmless comedic pranking at it’s best! nobody gets hurt and the joke is made so where’s the harm in this. surely any self respecting service worker would laugh at this themselves. in fact i believe this would break the monotony of the job. hell i wish people came through my job and did ggoofy stunts like this i would have so much time laughing about it that i wouldn’t care what time i was off work

I’m with Mr. Anderson. No one gets hurt and it breaks the monotony of the day! I’d to see someone do this in person! Check out Alki Steven’s full video here: http://bit.ly/lhkvoI.
