Airline passenger drops F-bomb, gets boot

An author of alleged “children’s books” needs to wash his mouth out with soap and find a new airline after dropping the F-bomb aboard an Atlantic Southeast Airlines flight.

Unlike the rain in Spain, Sayegh could not remain on the plane.

Unlike the rain in Spain, Sayegh could not remain on the plane.

The Detroit News reports Brooklyn author Robert Sayegh is thinking about suing the Delta Connection carrier.

According to the article, the 37-year-old, was flying from Kansas City to Newark when a flight attendant overheard him ask “What’s taking so [bleeping] long to close the overhead compartments?”

The plane taxied to the runway but returned to have Sayegh forcibly removed.

Sayegh told the Detroit paper he used the F-word twice.

“I’m like, ‘Are they throwing me off the plane? This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever been through in my life. It’s embarrassing.”

Sayegh, who’s also a TV producer, said he is not “a crazy maniac” and that in New York “we curse as adjectives.”

Oh well, at least he didn’t drunkenly flirt his way into the news.

The airline says the incident is under investigation.

Sayegh said would never intentionally disrupt a flight: “My cousin was killed in 9/11. A lot of friends died in 9/11. I would never come close to doing anything like that.”

oh please – “the “N” word unless you are one” Well, tell us how you really feel.

I would not have been “offended” by just the curse words. I curse, but yeah, typically within my circle of friends and family that share my point of view on it. It is not indicative of a lack of education or an ability to express myself.

In fact, my opinion of the line of thought that swearing signifies inability to express oneself or bein uneducated is truly representative of the tendency of folks to jump on the bandwagon on one person’s opinion, or something that they read (often having no clue of its origin) and riding it until the wheels fall off.

For those of you who seem to think Mr. Sayegh can claim some sort of safe harbor under “Freedom of Speech”, I suggest you go back to middle school civics class. If you were educated in Georgia public schools, then perhaps you didn’t learn that Amendment 1 of the US Constitution prohibits the making of any law infringing on the freedom of speech. Airlines and their employees are not legislators. Furthermore, governments in the US have long had free reign to limit obscenity according to their own sense of community standards, and the Supreme Court has offered little protection for obscene speech.

If this guy is using the “F” word even before takeoff, I’d hate to be on a plane with him after he had a few drinks or, God forbid, something else didn’t quite go his way fast enough. Sounds like he could use some anger control classes.

Hope he sues the airline..and the airline teaches flight attendant not only to assist with shutting the over head bins….. but to get feelings off her cuff and learn to roll with the punches….heaven for bid to see how she would over reacat if the plane was crashing…. bet she would be dropping the f bomb herself then

I would prefer the F bomb hurled as opposed to the slovenly passengers I am usually seated next to: dirty, smelly, eating greasy smelling fast food brought on board, no manners.

I guess the “famous” feel they can say and do anything! Problem is, he was not famous enough to get away with it!

Yes I get tired of hearing trash language floating through the air. And the ignorant speach rythms that are acceptable these days.
