Fox News uses picture of Tina Fey in Sarah Palin story

How good is comedian Tina Fey’s impersonation of Republican Sarah Palin?

This just in, Tina Fey is not running for president.

This just in, Tina Fey is not running for president.

Good enough to fool the former Alaska governor’s network of choice, according to media watchdog Mediaite.com.

Sunday, Fox aired a clip about Palin’s potential entry into the 2012 presidential race but used a picture of Fey from a Saturday Night Live skit.

Fox News released the following statement:  “This past Sunday during ‘America’s News Headquarters,’ a graphics error was made during a segment on former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The producer has since been disciplined and an explanation and apology will be made in the same hour next Sunday. Fox News regrets the error.”

TheWeek.com lists the goof as its best video of the week.

Heads may roll if something similar happens again, Mediaite reports.

A Fox News memo states: “Effective immediately, there is zero tolerance for on-screen errors. Mistakes by any member of the show team that end up on air may result in immediate disciplinary action against those who played significant roles in the “mistake chain,” and those who supervise them. That may include warning letters to personnel files, suspensions, and other possible actions up to and including termination, and this will all obviously play a role in performance reviews.”

Humans make mistakes, fortunately mine aren’t televised.

No error was made, unless Tina Fey considers it to be offensive. Sarah Palin is a joke, so what is better than to have a comediene portrary her!. FOX you have finally done something right, then you want to make excuses! Now that is funny!

“Zero tolerance for on-screen errors”?

Good luck with that. They happen all the time, and not just in Roger Eugene Ailes’ operation.

Either FOX News will be firing a bunch of people or this is a bit of a smokescreen.

I find these comments hilarious! If Fox News was so offensive to people they could just tune in to something else. No need for animosity. That the left controls virtually every media source other than Fox and the rest of us would like something to watch, I find it so ironic that they are so threatened by what Fox chooses to run.
Using Tina Fey, who basically owes her fortune to mocking Sarah Palin on air – is funny, no matter what side you are on. I like Palin and am capable of my own thoughts so I don’t watch the Comedy Channel as my news source. She has a role to play and has accomplished things, like her or not. But she shouldn’t run for President. Then again, neither should Obama. She has accomplished more than he has to be perfectly fair.

Punishment for the next graphics error will be:
Summarily verbally reprimanded!
Summarily ejected from the building, escorted by your superior and peers!
Summarily led to a Pub!
Summarily forced to drink until intoxicated!
Summarily laughed about by your superior and peers!
Summarily returned to work, properly disciplined.

LOL. Faux news is a parody of itself. If you can’t see that; I pity you.

And Tina Fey owes NOTHING to Sarah Palin. Tina Fey is an accomplished writer and actor. She has written hit movies and was even the head writer for SNL (which is considered one of the most respected writing jobs in the industry).

Fox news is an alternative to the far left media machine, most people who are incensed by it are ideologues or academic types who mainly deal in rosy theories rather than a harsher reality, like one of the other posters said if you don’t like it, don’t watch it, (I think the far left wing-nuts really are enraged by the fact that Fox blows away the ratings of all other cable networks combined) A little reality is refreshing from time to time. I consider myself an independant.

Observer – seriously? You stated: “the left controls virtually every media source other than Fox…” First, I disagree. However, even if you were correct, they might lean 51/49 toward the left. However, Fox (while calling themselves “news”) leans 99/1 toward the right. So far in fact that they’re not really a newschannel.

Tina Fey accomplished many things before you even heard of Sarah Palin. She owes her nothing. Palin actually owes Fey – if it wasn’t for her skits, many people in this country wouldn’t know anything about Palin.

Lastly, you pathetically state that Palin has accomplished more than Obama. IN WHAT WORLD? Seriously? Even if you are a Republican, a Governor of Alaska hasn’t accomplished squat compared to a President. You’re just flashing your ignorance blatantly now.

Why did Sarah Palin buy a house in Mexico? So she could build up her foreign policy experience. Now she’ll be able to see Mexico from her front porch too.

Barack Obama was born on August 4th and he will turn fifty years old on his upcoming August 4, 2011 birthday. Sarah Palin’s birthday is on February 11. When she was asked what year, she replied, “Every year.”

Q: What would you get if you crossed Sarah Palin with a parrot?

A: Sarah Palin

Q. What is Sarah Palin’s advice for the jobless on how to double their money?

A. Fold it in half.

Top Ten Reasons Why Sarah Palin is Running For President of the United States
1. Alaska isn’t about to take her back as Governor.

2. The Tea Party seems to be sobering up real fast.

3. Donald Trump won’t let her appear on The Apprentice.

4. The White House silverware could fit in her purse.

5. India turned out to be just too hot and icky.

6. The Secret Service would keep an eye on Todd.

7. The White House staff doesn’t have a union.

8. Free government health care for HER family.

9. Airforce One is bigger than her Gulfstream G650.

10. So that she can send Katie Couric to Gitmo.

Q. Why does Sarah Palin admire Abraham Lincoln?

A. For inventing the Town Car.

Palin:
Mayor
Governor
Balanced budget as governor
Over 70% approval rate as governor
Took BP to task as Governor

Obama:
Community Organizer
Senator (routinely voting present)

When it comes to executive experience, Palin wins hands down (pre-Obama presidency obviously). And Obama’s lack of executive experience (read lack of management skills) is evident.

I can disregard it and make my own opinions. Even disagree with what they have to say sometimes. But the little bit I’ve seen of MSNBC just has no credibility whatsoever. One thing Palin accomplished before President Barack Obama, was to abandon her state (Alaska) as a sitting Governor. Why did she do that?? Hmm, let’s see…first, she was facing fifteen or more ethics charges. One of which had her husband ( or soon to be ex-hubby) on the State’s payroll while not holding a position of employment with the State. I’ believe that called “theft by deception” or just plain ol’ “fraud.” Secondly, she needed time to find enough Ghost writers to assist her in composing her brilliant assessment of the “Right” and wrongs of our great country in here book “Going Rogue” LOL (she really should have added LOL to the end of that title!), and lastly, she needed more media exposure that being tucked so far away having to fulfill her sworn responsibilities to the citizens of Alaska. While running for Mayor of Waleska, Alaska, Palin promised not to raise taxes for its citizens. Guess what: SHE DID, ANYWAY! Atta girl, Grizzly Beach!! Most times when there has been a Republican caught in a scandal, Fox News has “accidently” put a “D” next to their name. They have been caught reporting satire from The Onion as actual news, they have broadcast pictures of large crowds on the Washington DC Mall, purporting them to be of teaparty gatherings, when they were actually much larger gatherings of other groups. NONE of these times were there reports of disciplinary action, as compared to this time, which leads one to believe some of the other “mistakes” were outright lies and intentional fraud.

But keep on defending Fox News as a real news source. It does wonders for anyone’s intellectual credibility, and at least alerts thinking people about whose opinions they can safelty ignore as uninformed and irrelevant.

One thing about the left is I don’t think they would have had the stones nor the fortitude to found a country such as this that lets them stand up for their ideals or spew their hatred to all who disagree with them…(so I think that fact should be recognized) Leftists would still be biting their pillows back in England…

At least when Obama wacked Bin Laden he didn’t go out on a carrier and fly in and get out of a plane dressed in a flight jacket like he was just back from a flight over Iraq dropping bombs (doing hi 5′ves with himself) and having a Mission Accomplished banner brought out like he did acomplished something like drop the damn bombs himself. No! Obama quietly gave the men WHO DID DO THE JOB CREDIT FOR DOING IT WITHOUT FANFARE!

I find these comments hilarious! If Fox News was so offensive to people they could just tune in to something else. No need for animosity. That the left controls virtually every media source other than Fox and the rest of us would like something to watch, I find it so ironic that they are so threatened by what Fox chooses to run.

I do tune into other sources, thanks.

I think the MSM leans more left than 51/49, but not as left as Fox supporters would have you believe.

And the above comment is spot-on. If you think the media is leftist, wouldn’t you want an alternative that was not 99% right-wing? How is that “fair and balanced”? It’s just right-wing. It’s no better than left-leaning. We need media that is truly impartial. But those days are over.

When Fox hired Palin, they lost any semblance of “fair and balanced.” Yeah, I know–they never were.

And on a more serious note, neither Palin, nor Obama are qualified to run for President, Obama just got lucky and was a relative unknown (still is, actually)…….but that will CHANGE in 2012.

I’m curious. What current Republican contender can unseat Obama? Seriously. The field is weak. What was that Onion headline I read earlier? “Homemade anti-Obama sign currently the frontrunner for the GOP party nomination.” It’s funny as heck, but, sadly, it’s true.

I just read an article in Newsweek (oh, sorry, that’s a LEFTIST rag, isn’t it?) about how Republicans should be focusing on 2016, when they’d have a much better chance. ‘Cuz their 2012 field is just lightweights.

The truth is that anyone who wants to see Obama re-elected should hope that Palin is the republican candidate. Obama will be a shoo-in.

Know what I want? I want the economy to improve and get closer to Clinton-era levels. I want a President who is smart and surrounds him- or herself with smart people with experience and less party-line ideology, and who is willing to admit when he or she is wrong. I want clear separation of church and state, and a POTUS who supports this Constitutional right, not one who is a puppet of the Religious Reich and gets his or her history from the bible or David Barton. I want a POTUS who will nominate independent thinkers to the SCOTUS. I want an end to the war in the Middle East, and more focus on fixing the problems in the U.S. I want the government out of my bedroom. I want fiscal responsibility, too.

Yes, I know I’m dreaming.

Also, name one person – other than one of your precious republicans – who EVER yelled out at a president in the middle of his speech such a distasteful, angry and down right disrespectful comment. I’m referring to the infamous “You lie!” statement that was spewed forth by one of your brethren. Unlike your kind, there’s one thing the left is not, and that’s a hypocrit.

Obama’s resume prior to his presidency:
Graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School (President of Harvard Law Review)
Civil Rights Attorney, Professor of Constitutional Law @ Chicago University Law School (12 yrs), three terms as an Ilinois State Senator, and a little community organizing on the side.

I’d say this beats Palin’s reality show(s).

If Obama has did so much for creating jobs, Why is the economy so bad ! And now Obama is running to the Clintons for help on how to solve the economy ?!?! If I were the Clintons, I wouldn’t tell him a GD thang !!!! The way that him and the democrats treated Hillary doing the primarys ! The Clintons should tell Obama to kiss their white asses !!

To whomever thinks Tina Fey “owes her career to Sarah Palin,” where have you been? Tina was the first female head writer of SNL, she eventually made a million dollars a year writing for them until she left in 2006, and she wrote/acted in several successful movies and wrote/produced/acted in a critically acclaimed TV show. ALL of this happened long before anyone outside of AK had ever heard of Sarah Palin. Give me a break! Hey Trog,

Hate to tell you, but separation of church and state is NOT in the Constitution. Freedom of religion is (even if your religion is “no religion”).

Besides, we all know that when secular (i.e. atheist) fundamentalists like yourself say “separation of church and state,” what you really mean is : “Shutting down the Church, and opening concentration camps for Southern Baptists and other evangelical Christians, complete with Sarin gas and crematories.” You folks need to grow a pair and admit it. I don’t want the church running the state, either (nor do very many other believers (there are crackpots in all aspects of society)): Faith should always be voluntary), nor do I want the government telling me what/who, where, and when I can worship (hasn’t happened yet, but just you wait), and denying my freedoms of speech and religion, by telling me I can’t tell others about my faith (but that’s what you want). If you don’t want to listen, say “no thanks” and walk away.

And by the way, David Barton has forgotten more about U.S. history than you will ever know.

Having said that, it is scary how far some members of the media will go to try to prove Palin correct, even to the point of stretching history like a rubber band to show she was “right” about Paul Revere. I don’t understand the fascination with her. She has shown time and time again that she is of low intelligence and panders to the lowest denomiation of American citizens.

And for the record, Fox News itself states that only 4 hours a day of their programming is actual news. They call the rest of it entertainment, by calling it entertainment it keeps the lawsuits down. Unfortunately they don’t advertise it or state at the beginning of their programming that the show is for entertainment purposes only and isn’t intended to be taken as accurate news.

You know, after reading posts here, I have reaffirmed my committment as a Libertarian. Both the left, and the right are brain dead ideologies that keep the corrupt politicians in power. You people don’t think, unless you are told that you can by your political idols. These politicos don’t “care” about you. They “care” about getting re-elected and keeping their power at your expense.
If it is not libertarianism, maybe one day, some third or even fourth party will wake up the sheep of both kinds.

@mbsfca — Not only was her husband on the payroll of AK, he’s part of the pro-secession movement in AK, at which Palin gave a speech shortly before getting tapped for VP.

On a related note, the governor of TX is a possible candidate in 2012, and he also is pro-secession. I guess that what the GOP values these days. The true Americanism of disorder and disruption.
