Fox News uses picture of Tina Fey in Sarah Palin story

How good is comedian Tina Fey’s impersonation of Republican Sarah Palin?

This just in, Tina Fey is not running for president.

This just in, Tina Fey is not running for president.

Good enough to fool the former Alaska governor’s network of choice, according to media watchdog Mediaite.com.

Sunday, Fox aired a clip about Palin’s potential entry into the 2012 presidential race but used a picture of Fey from a Saturday Night Live skit.

Fox News released the following statement:  “This past Sunday during ‘America’s News Headquarters,’ a graphics error was made during a segment on former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The producer has since been disciplined and an explanation and apology will be made in the same hour next Sunday. Fox News regrets the error.”

TheWeek.com lists the goof as its best video of the week.

Heads may roll if something similar happens again, Mediaite reports.

A Fox News memo states: “Effective immediately, there is zero tolerance for on-screen errors. Mistakes by any member of the show team that end up on air may result in immediate disciplinary action against those who played significant roles in the “mistake chain,” and those who supervise them. That may include warning letters to personnel files, suspensions, and other possible actions up to and including termination, and this will all obviously play a role in performance reviews.”

Humans make mistakes, fortunately mine aren’t televised.

Maybe Tina Fey should run for president. I mean, anyone who can make me like a show that has Alec Baldwin in it can certainly handle the presidency!

To whomever thinks Tina Fey “owes her career to Sarah Palin,” where have you been? Tina was the first female head writer of SNL, she eventually made a million dollars a year writing for them until she left in 2006, and she wrote/acted in several successful movies and wrote/produced/acted in a critically acclaimed TV show. ALL of this happened long before anyone outside of AK had ever heard of Sarah Palin. Give me a break! Will you Sarah Palin lovers EVER realize that you can’t just rewrite history to suit your needs/wants?

Hey Trog,

Hate to tell you, but separation of church and state is NOT in the Constitution. Freedom of religion is (even if your religion is “no religion”).

Besides, we all know that when secular (i.e. atheist) fundamentalists like yourself say “separation of church and state,” what you really mean is : “Shutting down the Church, and opening concentration camps for Southern Baptists and other evangelical Christians, complete with Sarin gas and crematories.” You folks need to grow a pair and admit it. I don’t want the church running the state, either (nor do very many other believers (there are crackpots in all aspects of society)): Faith should always be voluntary), nor do I want the government telling me what/who, where, and when I can worship (hasn’t happened yet, but just you wait), and denying my freedoms of speech and religion, by telling me I can’t tell others about my faith (but that’s what you want). If you don’t want to listen, say “no thanks” and walk away.

And by the way, David Barton has forgotten more about U.S. history than you will ever know.

Fox News sucks, anyway- nothing but overopinionated, biased bullcrap and pure propaganda. Between Tina Fey and Sarah Palin, I’ll take Tina Fey, anyday- she’s a very funny and attractive woman. I don’t like Sarah Palin- I have absolutely no respect for people, like her, who kill defenseless wildlife, exploit her own home problems for political gain and basically talks out of her butt, all the time, spewing nothing but grade-A bullcrap.

Bamabelle and Bulldawg, please get the crisco, some rubber sheets and go at it on your own time, leave the adults to carry on the discussion in this thread.

Having said that, it is scary how far some members of the media will go to try to prove Palin correct, even to the point of stretching history like a rubber band to show she was “right” about Paul Revere. I don’t understand the fascination with her. She has shown time and time again that she is of low intelligence and panders to the lowest denomiation of American citizens.

And for the record, Fox News itself states that only 4 hours a day of their programming is actual news. They call the rest of it entertainment, by calling it entertainment it keeps the lawsuits down. Unfortunately they don’t advertise it or state at the beginning of their programming that the show is for entertainment purposes only and isn’t intended to be taken as accurate news.

You know, after reading posts here, I have reaffirmed my committment as a Libertarian. Both the left, and the right are brain dead ideologies that keep the corrupt politicians in power. You people don’t think, unless you are told that you can by your political idols. These politicos don’t “care” about you. They “care” about getting re-elected and keeping their power at your expense.
If it is not libertarianism, maybe one day, some third or even fourth party will wake up the sheep of both kinds.

I want names! I want names in the Fox News Management stream so I can monitor the rare mistakes and minute errors that trickle down from the top of the pile and the way to the schmuck that gets cuaght holding the hot potato. Don’t get bit by setting too stringent standards supposedly set for all on the Faux Newz Party Barge. I will lmao at the first slipup by a big-wig controloid at Fox that causes the slightest blush from outsiders. Them we can all watch his/her bubblehead bounce off every other bobblehead in the management stream to the bottom of the pile and out the door!!!

You people who are upset with “Faux” News must REALLY be upset with President Obama who believes there are 57 states and that the current year is 2008. But also, that half of employers plan to drop health insurance coverage when Obamacare starts–along with a failed economy and an illegal war (that is the term you people like).

If a Fox News slip-up distracts you enough from things that really matter long enough to where you can vote for a man hell-bent on perpetuating your own failure, then have at it.

@mbsfca — Not only was her husband on the payroll of AK, he’s part of the pro-secession movement in AK, at which Palin gave a speech shortly before getting tapped for VP.

On a related note, the governor of TX is a possible candidate in 2012, and he also is pro-secession. I guess that what the GOP values these days. The true Americanism of disorder and disruption.

Fox shouldn’t be too hard on its staff for this. Although you can sometimes tell Fey and Palin apart, Fey absolutely nailed her physical appearance in the mock Biden debate on SNL. It is very difficult to tell them apart in those pictures.

If Fox is really going to have “zero tolerance for on-screen errors,” they are going to have to shut down permanently. Practically everything they air is a lie.
