Police catch man eating friend’s liver

I don’t know anyone with a job that chooses to eat liver.

Where liver is supposed to come from.

Where liver is supposed to come from.

But in Russia, some dude likes it so much he ate the liver of his friend.

A Reuters article says Moscow police tracked the man to his kitchen after discovering a trail of severed body parts including a head.

“When the police came to arrest the suspect, he was eating a human liver with potatoes,” a police spokeswoman for the Moscow’s western district said by telephone in the article.

The rest of the human liver was found in a refrigerator.

The suspect “admitted his crime and that he had eaten part of his acquaintance’s liver,” the prosecutor general’s main investigative unit said in a statement.

There was no mention of grilled onions.

George Mathis, do you think this is funny? He cut up a human being and your article jokes about grilled onions?? You should be ashamed of yourself and so should the editor who allowed you to end this story with a joke as if it’s funny.

George it is disrespectful, insensitive to the victim’s family, and just crude of you to joke about a cruel murder and then eating of the victims liver. This coldness and lack of empathy you show is a big part of what is wrong in modern times and of modern people. So your comment makes many people think it’s ok to joke which leads to action of the same thing.

Stacy said it 1st but you are wrong -not funny- for your “joke”. Please think about the consequences of your words before you print them. Also shame on your boss. I’m sure you have one too most of do.
It’s too bad she is too wimpy to tell you NO! that is wrong and goes too far and is just juvinile. oh, did I say she? I do not mean to be mean to assume your boss is a female, whoever your boss is I just thought was weak.

I’m disgusted that the writer of this article – and the Editor of this newspaper – make light of an absolutely horrific crime. Your poor taste in humor in this article makes you sound sick. Come on, a little class, please.

This is horrendous! If that poor soul was American there would be all kinds of backlash. Just because he was a citizen of another country and it happened beyond our borders, you find it funny that this happened! You just spit in the solemn faces of the victim and those who mourned him/her. May this Memorial Day weekend shine brightly on the victim’s loved ones as they mourn.

Well, George, the perp mentioned in the article may be a monster, but your handling of the material indicates pretty clearly that you, yourself are a psychopath. Thanks for warning the rest of us.

Hilarious! It’s about time someone had a sense of humor about these things.

This is not the first mention of cannibalism in Russia I’ve read about. Previously it was some alley bums who ate a companion. China has taken to it in the past, Korea even -and perhaps Japan. Now Russia, Also your joking was at best, unprofessional !

Wow, the AJC has stooped to a new level of low and I will never read another article by George Mathis. This crime was horrible and the perpetrator is obviously insane. The fact that you would find humour in that is a sign of the tacky times we live in.

In response to Paul Wilson, there have also been instances of cannibalism in America. The most famous in recent history would be Jeffrey Dahmer. Let’s not think this is some aberation that happens “over there”.

Russia doesn’t have much food for anyone, let alone onions to go with – anything! People are LITERALLY EATING each other! Amerika has tons of food, just go downtown or to any McDonalds and watch all them fat people wolfing down ‘dem’ burgers and fries, shakes and ice-cream!

George Mathis this article caught me eye based on the header and was already in awe just from that. But the crime took a back seat to your terrible statement at the end of this article. The level of insensativety is unbelieveable and I really cant believe you still have a job with AJC – your the busta of the week!!!!!!

The real problem in the world today is you can’t even make a joke without people getting their panties in a wad. All the PC stuff has gone way too far. Heck, the only ethnic word we can still use is redneck.

I was laughing all the way through the article though, so the onion joke really was wasted.

This is a badly written slant, published in an even more awful newspaper. Bad taste AJC, but who cares at a barely surviving hack of liberal yellow journalism. Never more grand than a free flyer under the wiper blade, the AJC is on it’s last breath. And Atlanta continues without a daily newpaper, only this poorly written flyer, an unedited waste of sawdust from Sandy Springs.

yes its horrendous what happened and many things are but in reality people being too serious will accomplish nothing either. Its not like any of you are out there cleaning up the streets yourselves. Get over the humor..

Good point CoCo…whats even worse is the same people complaining over the humor are the ones watching movies like the Saw series and other such gore… Like they havnte seen those movies or heard such things… You all know you are as sad and depraved as the next person.

george i have your back…but you can keep your liver, hah. goodness people, it is a horrendous story, if it offends you so much–pray for the cannibal, the police who had to see it, even pray for george if he hurt your feelings. but i am with case, most of you get off on horror movies and horror stories, whereas a lot of us in support of george dont– this is just written with a humorous slant and makes a terrible act a little easier to …. swallow- oops, sorry.

S. Dennis is TOTALLY correct! Allowing this report has been UNPROFESSIONAL, INSENSITIVE, GROSSLY OUT OF LINE WITH REPORTING, and takes away from your paper being a quality and reliable read, especially when there clearly was no oversight in this publication. Who is accountable?

The editor of the AJC along with whomever else may have green lighted this story for publication, need to be seriously reprimanded. Shameful
