You know the sex is hot when it starts a fatal fire.
It’s even hotter, as a news item, when the fire is caused by a voodoo sex ritual.
The New York Post, which digs this sort of thing up regularly, said a woman visited the apartment building and paid a man $300 to perform a voodoo ceremony to bring her good luck. After the ceremony they decided to have sex.
The fire was sparked after the couple knocked over the candles that were arranged on the floor around the bed, igniting the bed linens and clothes on the floor, the Post article said.
Mary Feagin, 62, who was not participating in the ritual, died in the fire.
“Hopefully others will learn from this tragedy,” said NYC Fire Commissioner Sal Cassano.
Like don’t mix sex and voodoo?

some aren’t reading the article very carefully….the woman that died had nothing to do with the ritual…she actually lived in a different apartment

To those of you who have condemned the dead woman without even reading the original article from the NY Post should be ashamed of yourselves. Mary Feagin was innocently minding her own business on the sixth floor while the sinners were having sex on the fourth floor! No connection whatsoever! And this will come as a huge shock to you arrogant youngbloods, but women who are 62, 72, even 82 are still enjoying sex…and much more than they did when they were having it with inexperienced and egostitical men like you!

The first sentence of this article – the “lede” sentence in journalism parlance – stinks to high heaven. It’s the most fatuous lede I’ve seen in years. Congratulations!

In case some of you missed it . . .
“Mary Feagin, 62, who was not participating in the ritual, died in the fire.”
It says the victim WAS NOT PARTICIPATING in the ritual.
Now you can go back to your smutty clowning around.

To each his own! It was just a hopeful situation that went wrong. Sleep in peace, Mary. OH, and what happened to the voodoo performer? Was her purse still present with money in it? Just wondering.

Did everyone mis-read this line: Mary Feagin, 62, who was not participating in the ritual, died in the fire? The woman who died in the fire was NOT participating in the ritual.
