Gadhafi children pay Usher, Mariah Carey big bucks
I wouldn’t turn down a cool million to sing for anyone, but the list of pop stars that performed for the kids of Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gadhafi is interesting.
For $1 million, you can do better.
The New York Times, citing cables obtained by WikiLeaks, says songstress Mariah Carey was paid $1 million to belt out four songs on the Caribbean island of St. Barts for Gadhafi’s son, Seif al-Islam, whom you may remember from the rambling speech that kicked off the recent carnage.
Another son, Muatassim, Libya’s national security adviser, allegedly hired Beyoncé and Usher to entertain at another New Year’s bash.
One can only assume Mariah and the gang have never heard of the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
I don’t know about you, but if I have a million to blow, I’m hiring Wilco, or at least Son Volt for my Tyco-like throw-down.

I heard this on tv and came online to find more information. I’ve always hated Mariah anyway but I will certainly never buy anything any of these “artists” put out.

Mmmmmm …Ok … we are taking celebrities to task eh? Wasn’t the US “in bed” with Gadhafi after his denouncement of Terrorists like Al Quieda? And the only reason we are mad now is because the public spotlight is on the situation. Not every celebrity is a humanatarian…ask all those celebrities who performed in APARTHEID South Africa ….I think we go after who’s the most popular right now ..and try to take them down a peg. Last I checked, working for a living wasn’t illegal …and if we gonna ding folk on moral grounds? Lets clean up our own backyard first …I’m just sayin’

So American money isn’t blood, oil and/or drug money??? (smh LOL) That is the silliest mess that I have ever heard!! Most musicians give back anyways!!! But I hear noone in the “MEDIA” asking for the oil companies and corporations to give back anything.
Absolutely double standards!! When will white America give back the riches they stole from Africa to build up America and the Europeans countries???
The American media loves to talk with a forked tongue about other leaders vs our own leaders and agenda…… HYPOCRITES!!!!!!! Most of the educated world recognizes the invasion of Iraq as illegal. Are we going to call all those bands and artisits out who sang at the military bases?
