Gadhafi children pay Usher, Mariah Carey big bucks

I wouldn’t turn down a cool million to sing for anyone, but the list of pop stars that performed for the kids of Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gadhafi is interesting.

For $1 million, you can do better.

For $1 million, you can do better.

The New York Times, citing cables obtained by WikiLeaks, says songstress Mariah Carey was paid $1 million to belt out four songs on the Caribbean island of St. Barts for Gadhafi’s son, Seif al-Islam, whom you may remember from the rambling speech that kicked off the recent carnage.

Another son, Muatassim, Libya’s national security adviser, allegedly hired Beyoncé and Usher to entertain at another New Year’s bash.

One can only assume Mariah and the gang have never heard of the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.

I don’t know about you, but if I have a million to blow, I’m hiring Wilco, or at least Son Volt for my Tyco-like throw-down.

It is pretty interesting the comment that “ant banks” made about Gadhafi’s son’s being enemies of America because of what their father did. Well would’nt that make the son’s/daughters of White folks that raped, hanged and dehumanized black people responsible too??? America was built off the greed of white folks. What….only white folks can secure capital by any means necessary!! Wake up!!!

Beyonce, Usher, and Mariah Carey…something in common, the first two have no talent and the third one hasn’t had a hit song in 15+ years…gotta make it while you can, before people catch on that you don’t have much.

1GROWNGIRL,

that is the way of the world. henry ford got rich off the backs of his “slaves”, jerry buss, the owner of the lakers, is gettin’ rich off his “slaves.” the founder of facebook, is gettin’ paid of the backs of his “slaves”. if you are a business owner and you have “slaves” workin’ for you, YOU are gettin’ rich off their backs. you ain’t payin’ them what you are gettin. will you. and if you are a “slave” of some company you won’t “run away.” lol. SUCKA

just sayin....

what folks making money off of slaves back?

There’s public schools for you…check the facts: less than 1% of the souther population prior to 1861 had slaves of any kind – that’s right, less than 1 (ONE)%.

And what about the tribes that captured other other tribes and sold them to the French who sold them to NORTHERN ships who sold them to the FEW who could afford to own a slave? Again, check your facts not your hatred.

It was all wrong.

However, these people have a right (its Capitalism and it works) to sell their services to whom they choose so long as they don’t violate the laws of the US and State Department. As consumers we have the right to say “we don’t agree and won’t support you” or “I don’t care I just like the beat”.

Ignorance is true slavery!

If you don’t like living in America, I’m sure Libya is a nice country to settle in. Just buy a ticket and you’ll never comeback

Slavery is not something that should be swept under the rug. It is a part of our history. It’s sad that people died on the plane crash, but millions of slaves died on the passage here & the in humane manner in which they were treated should not be over looked. We have enough mess in our on yard here in America, but we’re so quick to judge others. It’s all tragic to me, lives lost are lives lost whether it was slavery or plane crashes. I am a Caucasian, Republican lady who was born & raised in the south. I would not personally have performed for them, but who am I to judge. I also would not have participated in slavery. Let’s work together on solving the issues here in our nation; homelessness, poverty, classism, lack of adequate healthcare, poor morals, lack of values etc.

And to think the only thing I could afford for my son’s bar mitzvah was an effing Mariachi Band.
