After our open house two Sundays ago, my real estate agent suggested that my baseboards didn’t look clean enough and that the wires hanging down from our television were distracting. We had 10 agents touring the house last Thursday so I got to work to try to remedy these items. So I spent Monday, Tuesday night and Wednesday of last week cleaning and painting baseboards on my hands and knees (among all the regular tasks). I also put together a TV cabinet to try to conceal all the electronic equipment and all of the wires. When I installed the TV cabinet, I had to disconnect all the wires from the router, wifi and the satellite and I couldn’t get all connected back up correctly. So I lost internet. I wrote to MJG on my phone to ask her to tell you guys that so you would know what was going on. (Every time I tried to pull the cabinet out to adjust the wires, I knocked off plaster from the nook that holds it so then I had to repair the plaster and paint it.)
I spent Thursday morning trying to make the house look perfect (skimming pools, pond, hands and knees wiping up floors to be shiny, and Windexing the glass doors and windows). I left as the agents arrived, went to the grocery store and got my groceries for Rose’s birthday, my husband coming home and Easter.
On Friday the kids were home from school, and I finally was able to fix the internet and the cable and then I took them to Mass. When we came home, I packed my bag to go to a hotel with my husband for 24 hours to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary, which had been on Wednesday. I got everything prepared for the babysitter, checked into the hotel and then picked up my husband at the airport. I hadn’t seen him for about a month.
We had 24 hours to celebrate 20 years of marriage but we had to cut it short to come home early to make sure the house was perfect for a showing at 1:15 on Saturday. Saturday was also Rose’s 13th birthday so we took her out for lunch while we had to be out of he house. Then we came home and I started making my Easter meal and Rose’s requested birthday dishes. (Oh and I dropped off my car for a oil change and walked home and then walked back to get it.) I wrapped her presents and grilled out steaks and served birthday cake. I went to bed and woke up at 3 a.m. to play Easter bunny. Then we went to church, had Easter lunch, I took the kids to the park and Michael took Rose to a movie. Then I harassed kids to do homework and then I wrote this blog.
And that is why there were no blogs on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
