Would you watch a ‘Brady Bunch’ reboot?

I loved ‘The Brady Bunch’ growing up. I watched it in reruns on TBS, and I had every episode memorized. My kids have never gotten into the original but now CBS is planning a reboot of the show.

From Reuters:

“CBS has placed a script order for a reboot of the classic TV series “The Brady Bunch,” which is being executive-produced by “The Watch” star Vince Vaughn, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.”

“The reboot will revolve around divorced dad Bobby Brady – the youngest son on the original series – who’s remarried to a woman with children of her own, and with whom he also has a child. On top of it, the ex-spouses of Brady and his wife are still involved with their lives.”

“In addition to Vaughn, the project is being executive-produced by Lloyd Schwartz, son of “Brady Bunch” creator Sherwood Schwartz, as well as his Wild West Picture Show Productions partners Victoria Vaughn (his sister) and Peter Billingsley, and “My Name Is Earl” and “Raising Hope” writer/producer Mike Mariano, who’s writing the project.”

Did you like the “Brady Bunch” as a kid? Have your kids gotten into it? Would you watch a reboot of the show? What do you think it should be like?

I’d watch a reboot if it was a real reboot, what they want to do is make a sequel and by the sound of it a bad sequel series, looks like another “The Bradys” and we all know how that turned out.

That doesn’t sound like the Brady Bunch, it sounds like Jerry Springer show. No thanks.

I’d watch if it was a true reboot, with new actors, but same premise and time period.

Good Lord, no. The original was terrible enough for 3 generations.

There is already a modern day reboot of “The Brady Bunch”. It is called “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”.

I think we’re better off staying with the original…

No, I didn’t care for it back then and sure I won’t now. Now an Andy Griffith reboot…yeah!

If it’s as exciting as it’s made to sound, I think I’ll just sit around and watch paint dry for a while..

I’ll probably check it out because based on who’s creating it, I think there’s a good chance it will be really funny (I love Raising Hope).

I watched it everyday growing up too. I can tell you everything about every episode. I doubt this one would be as good as the original through the eyes of a child (I thought it would be fun to have that many siblings plus I thought their house was cool).

Spartacus–I’m pretty certain it was Greg shtooping the mom. I think if it was Bobby someone would have gone to jail.

Just sayin’…

I’d sooner watch Hot Lesbians make at Chick-fil-A while I sip on some lemonade.

I wouldn’t watch a reboot and I wouldn’t watch a sequel (which is what this is). Some things are better left alone. Something they didn’t realize with all those subsequent “very Brady” specials. This is the result of too much time, too much money and not enough creativity meeting.

nope, based on some of the people involved in the production/writing, it sounds like it will be fairly raunchy. Certainly don’t think it will end up being a family show.

Reboot —- Y u c k ! Heck no, I wont watch. Season 1 of original was tolerable but after that, even the original series lost any appeal that existed.

I tried watching current Hawaii Five-O and only made it through 3 episodes. I’ve not watched network TV series since L.A.Law was taken off the air.

Blech! No. I personally love the original because of its cheesiness. Quit messing with a classic. If CBS really goes through with it, I predict it will tank.

Too many peoe have lived/are living the blended family. One that I know of had it all go peachy keen or groovey like the bradys. I agree with others not a reboor. not watching nbcs show where the lady has the gay couples baby & the older lady makes snarky comments. not watching matt perry new comedy. not watching the one at the vet clinic either. one good thing about olympic commercials i know what not to watch

Peter Billingsley is that kid from “A Christmas Story,” right? He also worked on/in the movie “Elf,” so I can appreciate his involvement in this – he knows what is funny. He’s worked with Vaughn, et al before as well.
